::   From the opening Beethoven festival to the rousing finale of Mahler's Resurrection Symphony on August 21, the 21st Brott Music has music for many tastes – from the classics to hot jazz, Italian opera, Greek and Mediterranean song, classy high teas, klezmer, even a nod to rock. Artistic Director Boris Brott, the National Academy Orchestra and famed soloists perform at indoor locations in and around Hamilton, the lush outdoor setting of the Botanical Gardens and Muskoka's legendary Windermere House.

                         A Rocky Mountain High: 75th Anniversary of The Banf Centre

::  Harbourfront Centre celebrates The Banff Centre's 75th anniversary with a free weekend festival showcasing The Banff Centre's alumni in dance, music, film, visual arts and literature. A Rocky Mountain High: The Banff Centre highlights The Banff Centre's continuing contribution to the cultural landscape of Canada. Located in one of the most spectacular regions of Canada - Banff, Alberta's mountain location provides the context for much of the creativity that develops at The Banff Centre through its multidisciplinary residencies and commissioning projects and at showcase performances like the annual Banff Summer Arts Festival.

                                                 Toronto Music Garden Free Concerts All Summer

::  The popular Summer Music in the Garden series returns to the Toronto Music Garden with a new season of free classical music and dance all summer long! Summer Music in the Garden showcases an eclectic array of music and dance performances that complement the beauty and calm of the Toronto Music Garden, and the music of composer Johann Sebastian Bach that inspired it.
 From June 29 to September 14, Summer Music in the Garden presents 20 free outdoor concerts and dance performances with over 90 performers over the course of the summer, taking place on Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. and on most Sundays at 4 p.m.
  The popular free guided garden tours led by volunteers from the Toronto Botanical Garden return for another season, taking place on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. from June 4 to September 24, and on Thursdays before every concert at 5:30 p.m. from July 3 to September 11. Self-guided audio tours are also available for a nominal fee.

                                                                   29th Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards

::   The Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts presents the 29th annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards, hosted by the iconic cabaret artist and singer Sharron Matthews with special guest Tom Allison.
  The biggest opening night of the season, The Doras are dedicated to celebrating excellence in Toronto theatre, dance, and opera and honour the creators of over 200 productions in five major categories. In total, 35 Dora Awards are presented at this sparkling and star-studded event.

                                               Dream In the Park: A Midsummer Night's Dream

::   The return of two-time Dora Awardwinning director ahdri zhina mandiela and her popular interpretation of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Her colourful, hip-hop twist on the Bard's tangled tale of mischievous fairies and mismatched lovers who wander through an enchanted forest-meets-industrial-wasteland is part of the 26th annual CanStage TD Dream in High Park.
  A Midsummer Night's Dream is one of the best-loved Shakespearean comedies of all time and the very first play ever produced at CanStage TD Dream in High Park. A hip, urban interpretation featuring a multi-racial cast and colourful hip-hop influenced costumes and rhythms was produced last summer in tribute to the 25th anniversary of the CanStage TD Dream in High Park. The production makes a comeback this summer as it proved to be popular with reviewers and theatre-goers, so much so, that audiences were beyond capacity and patrons had to be turned away during the final weeks of performance.

                                                                                                               Festival of Fire

::  For four nights this summer, Ontario Place will light up the Toronto waterfront with brilliant fireworks displays choreographed to the world's best music by three teams in a friendly competition to see which presents the most amazing show.
  This unique event will take place on June 28 (South Asia), July 1 (Canada), July 3 (Latin America) and conclude on July 5 (Finale).
   Fireworks begin at 10:30pm. Weather Permitting.

::  The CHIN Picnic includes non-stop colourful and spectacular cultural and contemporary song and dance entertainment, a circus, amusement park rides and games, beer garden, dozens of food concessions, major sports events; an International Shopping Bazaar, prize winning contests/competitions, More than 2,000 performers entertain, and an estimated 250,000 people attend the free CHIN International Picnic.

  Built around the idea of crossing borders, Harbourfront explores how migration from within and outside the Canadian border has shifted and merged local identities with a global sensibility, and explore the way we get to know each others better. Through music, dance, food, film, visual arts, and activities for the entire family, visitors discover the iconically Canadian and the uniquely hyphenated-Canadian experience on the urban shores of Toronto's waterfront.
  Harbourfront Centre celebrates Québec City's 400th Anniversary with evening performances by internationally known Quebec born singer-songwriter Martha Wainwright (featuring songs from her new album "I Know You're Married But I've Got Feelings Too") as well as by critically acclaimed Quebec based Indie Rock Folk trio Plants and Animals. Additional performances include Quebec style step dancing by Rapetipetam (led by Pierre Chartrand) and acrobatic fire manipulation by Les Walkyries, an all women group of Quebec based fire tamers who have performed with the Cirque du Soleil and at the Just for Laughs festival.

                                                                                                Toronto Fringe Festival

:: For the past 19 years, the Fringe of Toronto Theatre Festival has been storming Toronto stages with unjuried, unexpected, and unforgettable shows. The festival has established itself not only as Toronto's biggest theatre festival, but has become the third largest Fringe in Canada. Working with over 800 local and international artists, this year's festival is offering up 150 shows in 30 venues throughout the city, and we're expecting an attendance of over 57,000., they've even added dance to this year's program welcoming Dance Umbrella of Ontario to the stages of the festival.

                                                                                      The Scream Literary Festival


::  From July 3 to July 9, The Scream Literary Festival turns Toronto into a laboratory of poetry and ideas. Now in its 15th year, this year's festival considers the strange alchemy of poetry and science, through readings, panels, and performances. As always, the festival reaches its boiling point with The Scream in High Park, Canada's largest single-night outdoor reading, on July 14.
