My wife and I were there in February. They have a web site. In this posting I will endeavor to add to that information, not repeat it.
If you want to dive a lot and not do anything else, don’t go to La Source (e-mail me for suggestions on places for this). They only have one boat, and the amount of diving you can do depends on how many other people want to dive. The dive shop staff does their best to ensure that everyone gets a chance, which might mean that you miss a dive or two. Shore diving is sort of available, but I did not consider it worthwhile. Also, they want to start everyone off on a shallow dive, so you will not dive your first morning there. If you want a great vacation that includes some diving, this is a great spot.
The diving itself is comparable to Saba, St Kitts, and Cuba. The reefs are in very good shape and there are a lot of small fish. There are very few large fish. All the sites were very nice and my favorite was a wreck called The Buccaneer.
The dive shop staff are professional and friendly. The routine is a bit different than anywhere else I have been. You gear up at the dive shop and walk to the beach (about 50 yds). Then you wade in, put on your mask and fins, and swim out to the boat, which is about 30 yds offshore. Then you climb a ladder into the boat. This routine is reversed coming home and "It is not how well you dive that counts, it’s how good you look coming out of the water". All boat trips are one tank so you never miss a meal.
You can compare prices with other all-inclusives by reading tour books. When you do, bear in mind that at La Source, the price includes diving, water skiing, and massages – things that normally cost extra.
Something that we learned on arrival is that guys must wear long pants to dinner. Blue jeans are acceptable. Also not on their web site is that they have a par 27 golf course. Clubs and balls are provided. You can easily shoot a round between your dives and still eat lunch.
All in all, great trip.
