Hello everyone............. this month's Reel Thing is from Ron Deval, Gord's son.

As you may know by now, my father has been in the Toronto General Hospital since early September.  Shortly after returning from his annual excursion into Gods' country (Northern Quebec) he went into the hospital for a "procedure" to attempt to arrest a prostrate condition that has been plaguing him for several years.  Apparently he suffered a minor stroke and a minor heart attack during surgery and he has been in the hospital ever since, mostly just waiting for space in a rehabilitation facility.  Yesterday (Monday) he was finally moved to a rehab room across the street from T.G.H and is going to be working hard with his therapy group to prepare to return to his normal life... of fishing, and cooking and enjoying his life with his lovely wife, Sheila.

I would like to express my gratitude for all of his friends who have rallied around him and made his stay in the hospital a little more bearable.  He is very restless, having been restricted to a very small space for a very long time, and your visits have made it at least manageable.  Thank you, and I know that my Dad thanks you all from the bottom of his heart.  He is very anxious to get out "on the river" or on a lake in the near future and returning to life as it should be.
