BEAD GALLERY

Below are some of the bead projects I've done since I was first introduced to beading in April 2004 at, of all places, a music convention. And remember, it's all Kathleen's fault! (In case you're wondering, Kathleen is the one who got me started. See the song below.)

This is the first project I completed using spiral link chain stitch

which led to....

and also to other projects, but I don't have pictures of them yet.

Here's my first attempt at making a peyote bracelet. A big thank you goes to Cathy Lampole of That Bead Lady for the pattern.
I'm pleased with how it turned out. This photo doesn't quite do it justice in that the beads don't appear as sparkly as they really are.

My New Hobby

Dedicated to Kathleen who started it all.*

Tune: "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music
Lyrics: Not so little old me.

Nymo, Thread Heaven, and needles for beading,
Shiny Czech beads I find so appealing,
Silver lobster clasps, and tiny jump rings,
These are now some of my favourite things.

Spiral link chain first then I'll try peyote,
I'll learn more tricks than Wil E. Coyote,
So many more stitches that I can learn,
I'll need lots of time to give each one a turn.

Boxes for storage, and banners to fly,
These are just some of the things I can try,
Amulet bags, bracelets, necklaces too,
I'm so amazed at the things I can do.

Stretch the thread first,
Use conditioner,
That's what Kathleen said,
And now I am beading at night and all day
I won't stop 'til I'm dead!

(Repeat all verses)

*Kathleen was the official filk waif for FilKONtario 14 and ran a beading workshop on Sunday morning.
I caught the beading bug from her.
