It was the first end. We had hammer. First rock played was a center line guard. Our corner attempt bit. The ensuing takeout try missed, so we set up a tight corner on the other side. Our opponents then decided it was time to utilize their center guard. Well, a series of chips and stones thrown short or takeout misses followed by them. We kept coming deep, tee line or more (even though we were attempting to simply place guards at the top of the house). Fatefully it seemed, when our skip was in the hack preparing to throw her last stone, the front end asked if she was fully aware that she was shooting for an eight. How we got to this point none of us cared. Amazingly, she made her last draw to the four foot. We continued the game to four completed ends. At 16-0, our opponents conceded.
