On March 13, 2000 in Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada team Dodds received the ultimate gift in curling - a stolen 8-ender. It was during their club's season ending bonspiel. The stolen 8-ender occurred when the (nameless) opposing skip jammed on a Dodds guard, driving that stone onto his own rock in the four foot and removing it from play. It had been third shot prior to the fatal delivery.
