Our Eight Ender happened Thursday night in the Teacher's League at the Medicine Hat Curling Club in Medicine Hat on November 28, 2002. We were in the 5th end and the score was 4 - 3 in our favour. After executing a few hit and rolls and a double take-out, we were looking at 7 of our rocks counting with the skip's final rocks to come. Cal decided to put up a guard to increase the difficulty of the opposing skips last shot. With Sally calling the line and Don and Rachelle sweeping, Cal's last rock stopped short of the rings and slightly over curled leaving the opposing skip a lane to the button. The opposing skip's final rock was running true, but started to over curl after the hog line. It glanced off one of his guards and bumped our guard. After an unbelievable sweeping effort by Cal, our guard ended up in the rings to score 8.
This was Cal's, Don's and Rachelle's first Eight Ender and Sally's second.
