During the fifth game of the second event in this Ladies Afternoon League, the Susan Helson team was losing 4-3 at the end of the sixth end. As the seventh end innocently progressed, a combination of draws, takeouts and heavy guards saw the Helson team with six of its rocks in the house with the four skip rocks to come. The opposition decided to draw twice on the shot stone to cut out the sea of red they faced. The attempts both partially buried, but fatefully in each case, Helson was able to punch them out and stay! This curling feat was accomplished with the support of vice Donna Nash, second Heather Denley and lead Patricia Grattan.
