As reported by Flora Poulton: "This exciting event took place February 12, 1993 in the Ormstown Ladies Invitational Bonspiel at the Ormstown Curling Club in Quebec. Our team curls out of the Alexandria Curling Club, Alexandria, Ontario, Canada.

We had the hammer but neither Peggy nor I were aware of the possibility of an 8-ender until Peggy's final stone hit the opposition's shot stone clear out of the rings. The front end and the audience were all aware of what was going on and Peggy's final rock had hardly stopped moving when someone came out with a camera and shouted "Don't touch anything!!!"

We have never forgotten that day. We went on to win the game 11-8 and also won the bonspiel."
