The short-handed team stole an 8-ender in the last end to win 14 to 4. Ray Marleau's last shot was a wide open takeout of a yellow stone sitting on the button - "It's the one shot I did not want to miss". The takeout was perfect with a roll into the pocket. For the opposing skip's final shot, he elected to draw and freeze to a blue stone. There were enough of them so it should be easy. The shot, however, was a bit strong and was swept right through the house. Maybe he should have tried a take out!!!
This was during the first game of the season of the Thursday Night Mercantile League.
