Congratulations to team Stewart for scoring their 8-ender January 14, 1999 at the Selkirk Curling Club in Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada. They have the distinction of being the first team to score an 8-ender in a Ladies League at Selkirk.. As reported by Ruth, "Our 8-ender came as a total surprise as we didn't even have last rock. Their third, when attempting a draw with her last rock, came up short of the house. Our skip with her first rock drew to the front 12 foot and guarded at the same time. The opposing skip, instead of getting her draw into the house, racked on their own rock out front and rolled to the boards. Wanitta then put another rock on the front 12. The opposing skip with her last rock had nice weight but it wouldn't curl for her and it tapped our front rock a little further in and her rock rolled back out of the rings."
