On February 2nd, Phyllis Wilson [skip], Mary-Lou Draper [third], Gloria Green [second] and lead Elva Stark entered the Community Bonspiel at the Shawville Curling Club in Shawville, Quebec. They represented the Rebekah Lodge. They had hopes of winning a prize in this event, alleged to be the largest single rink bonspiel in North America. Their historic eight-ender came in the 7th end. At the time, the Wilson crew were trailing 6-5. They not only gleefully grabbed the eight points to win the game by a final tally of 13-8. They won their Division of the spiel. And, whoa!, they got their 8-ender against four men!!!!!!!!!!!!!
