Scored in the Men's League, with play into the fourth end, the Wyshynski rink had a 3-2 lead and held hammer. The historic end was played by Wyshynski's opponents from beginning to end to protect a blue shot rock that was biting the button. The massing of red granite was ignored. With his final shot, skip Mel Wyshynski was looking at eight stones in the rings, seven of which belonged to his team. Shot was still that blue brick. Shot called was an angled raise takeout. It had to be executed such that the shot stone did not jam and the shooter stayed. It worked.
