"FOR THE CAUSE OF GOOD"
THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THE MASONIC FOUNDATION
- Funding is provided primarily from three sources; Investment Income,
Contributions from our members are generated directly from the annual Yellow
Envelope Campaign, and Bequests received from the estates of brethren who made provisions
in their estate planning for the Masonic Foundation of Ontario.
- Assets employed in the 1998 fiscal year totalled $4,470,702.00
- During the 1998 fiscal year, The Foundation in conjunction with
various District projects, paid out bursaries and donations totalling $427,498.00
- Administration costs in the 1998 fiscal year were 14.5% of total
income revenue. When compared to other charitable organizations these administration costs
are significantly less than the norm.
- Officers, Directors, and Committee members serve their respective
offices without any financial remuneration. The Foundation is indebted to the dedicated
Masons within our Grand Jurisdiction who serve the Foundation without pay, for their
personal commitment and the execution of Masonic charity.
- Ninety five percent of our funding is committed to the youth within
the Province of Ontario.
- The Masonic Foundation of Ontario qualifies as a charitable
foundation under the terms of the Income tax Act ( Canada).
