Eric Parker
Eric returned from India in 1965 carrying a sitar. Since then he has studied that instrument as well as Hindustani vocal (with several teachers) and, for the last few years, the sarangi, with Aruna Narayan Kalle, daughter of the great Pandit Ram Narayan. Eric's passion for this vanishing instrument has led him to work closely with a young instrument maker in attempting to build a concert quality sarangi here in Canada as the lack of playable instruments (even in India) is rapidly contributing to the sarangi's decline.

He runs his own graphic design company through which he produces promotional work for the Toronto dance and music community (for not much money) and for several commercial clients (for somewhat more money).

He was involved in the creation of The Raag Mala Music Society of Toronto in 1980 and produced the newsletter "Alap" along with others. Currently he works extensively with The Toronto Tabla Ensemble and M-DO (with its newsletter "Tihai") and produces the music journal "Bansuri" along with other members of the Toronto Gharana.
