Aug 29/01 — Jacquie: Routine week

I was able to get out 3 times this week, which was pretty good considering my recent move and craziness at work. Not to mention not being able to find my shoes, running shorts or headphones...next time I move, my running gear will have their own special box!

This week was a typical one in terms of my running routine. One on my own, the Tuesday penguin run at Taylor Creek and a long run with Kathryn and Kelly.

The runs on my own tend to be my 'fast' ones where I start out at 4.5 and work my way up to anywhere between 5 and 5.5. Because these are my fast ones they are short, 30-40 minutes without taking a walk break. I try do this run on Mondays so that I can start my week out with a run.

The penguin run is a slow to medium paced run but longer, 50 - 90 minutes, with plenty of breaks, typically 4 and 1's or 5 and
1's. My runs with Kelly and Kathryn are my long runs. We go it slow to protect my inexperienced bones but I'll tell you, my legs ache and whine towards the end. I was sick towards the end of last week and I'm still a bit sick now and I am sitting in worry about my upcoming week of training...
