*********************************************

Well, the roller coaster ride has continued.  During the past two weeks I have been a bit more sporadic with my training.  Part of that was due to social commitments and part of that was work as I had a big deadline for Nov 30th.  However, my deadline is now past and there are just the zillion social engagements and the endless Christmas shopping to deal with.

The weightloss I was reporting last time did not stay.  Unfortunately I need to continue working at that one.  However I was pleased to see that I have passed the one year mark on my 75 pound weightloss and have done so without ever going over my goal weight range (and having to pay WW). I was very pleased to see that milestone achieved.  Now I'll just have to
work a bit harder to try and lose a few more pounds before Christmas.  (One of these days I'll figure out how to lose them without them finding me again too!)

During the last 2 weeks I also ran a race.  The Help Santa 2 Miler is run before the Santa Parade.  There were approximately 100,000 spectators there this year despite the windy rainy conditions. Surprisingly many of them cheered us on and that was a HUGE treat.  I met fellow Penguin Una Beaudry and we looked quite smashing as we started together in our matching
Toronto Penguin shirts.  After a bit I went ahead and ran a very hard race by HR.  I even had my monitor up to 194 during the second mile but unfortunately I was unable to maintain that.  The splits on my watch show 7:08 and 7:17 – not quite an even race but close enough that I'm still quite happy with my new PB time
of 14:25.  I was thrilled to see that this time landed me solidly in the mid-pack with a placing of 21/44 women.

Overall November was a strange month for me training-wise.  My mileage was only 79K (49.5 miles), my second lowest mileage month of the year. Adding to that 7 hours of cross training and my schedule was okay, but definitely much lighter than some of the summer months.  Ah well, the off season is here and I might as well enjoy a little break before I get sucked into my Around the Bay 30K training in the new year.

That's the news from Kanata.  Will be back with another installment in just a few weeks.  Talk to y'all then!
