Workout-wise, the primary focus of this week was to recover from my 5K race (3 days) and then begin working on building my base again. This lead me back to hill workouts and to lengthening my LSD run. My long run was the joy of my workout week. Sunday was warm, sunny and with only a little wind. Conditions were near perfect for a long run and unlike any
January winter running conditions I have ever experienced. I savoured every minute on the road, even the big hill I threw in to help prepare me for the hills in Kentucky at KD Mini, and had a fabulous time running. I returned feeling triumphant and strong. I wish every LSD run could go as well.Personally, the primary focus of this week was supporting our best friends as they headed to the hospital to give birth to baby #2. My friend Julia had never been separated from her son Tyler and was quite nervous about leaving him at home. Luckily I have a very understanding boss and I was able to take advantage of the flex time policy at work to babysit Tyler at his house while they went to the hospital. Tyler and I muddled through the whole thing. Little brother Devon Spencer arrived one week late and cute as a button. As you can imagine we are all fighting over who gets to hold him, including big brother Tyler.
