Grabbing hold with the chopsticks Success!
This was Deb from Buffalo's first Dim Sum experience. With a little help from Jerry [far right], she managed to get the hang of the chopsticks. Next year we make her try the chicken feet!

From L to R: (Back) Kurt, Steve, Dimetre and Kelly. (Front) Warren, Marta, Tracy M and Glenn. Two words: Wings and Beer. Yes, W&B was our flimsy excuse for organizing an end-of-summer group run. Jacquie joined us at Whistler's restaurant where we "carbo-loaded" afterwards. Ahem.

Gang:

The race was originally scheduled for last weekend but, we ran it as a fun run, as only 10 people showed. It was rescheduled for today but only 8 showed. Another 400km drive with my Daughter, yup quality time!!

They shortened the course to 5K but we still had to climb the escarpment twice.  With the exception of us two and one organizer's son, they were all new runners today. Darn fast ones too. Two guys (one in 30-39 AG and one 50-59) ran this 5KM XC in 18:53 and 19:01 respectively. While telling everyone they really hadn't run much this summer, yeah right.  The winner said he just resumed running last week. =:-0  hah, must have quit for a whole 2 days before restarting.

Anyone else ever experience the pre-race "baloney throwers"?

Good news, my daughter and I won AG 1st places. She at 23:25 and me at 24:57. This seems a little fast for the distance so I'm looking forward to a road race to see if I really have gained some speed.

We have a list of fall races on the fridge and I'm looking forward to more runs with my Daughter.
