Aug. 21, 1997, Business Wire reports that IBM and Symbol have
announced an agreement whereby IBM Mobile and Wireless Services
will provide planning and implimentation services to Symbol
customers. [IBM has been selling Symbol products under the IBM
label for a while now.]

Symbol is one of the most successful of the industrial mobile producers.
I see them often in department stores where they are capable of slugging
it out with the more recognized names like NCR or IBM. Then again, some
of the newest IBM products apparently are Symbol.
