WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU ! |
|

Many Clients inquire what is the differance between a promoter and an Agent? And can an agent do what a promoter does? First, usually but not in all instances an agent's mandate is to service his/her clients which are the Artists on his/her roster and or associate. The agent receives his/her fee through a commission paid by the artist. This means that the agent is in fact representing the Talent itself where as the promoter is hired by your community group/association/Corporation to represent their best interests in the entire production and execution of the event. This also gives you a wider choice of opportunity of Talent as promoters shop through many Talent agencies/managers/artists etc. and have a wider resource as such for you to choose from. Second, yes an agent could do what a promoter does keeping in mind that his mandate is the care of their primary client being the artist. In our opinion hiring an agent to do a promoters job would be like hiring your husband or wives divorce attorney. A promoter brings his/her expertise to be able to deal with agents/managers and artists to negotiate contract offers, riders, and production requirements. A promoter's strength is in the negotiation of numerous areas of the production. The artists rider, the artists cost, Production riders etc. are just a few items, which the promoter has had experience negotiating on the clients behalf. |
