Short History:
The band was formed sometime in mid 1997 with Rob, Brian and Zoltan
Toth on drums and Jeff on second guitar. Rob's previous bands included
the Purple Toads, Durango
95 and the Boneyard Devils. Though a lot is not known about Brian
he was a member of The Hippies from the London, Ont. area about 15 or 20
years ago. I have no background information on Zoltan or Jeff.
Rob's bands were from Oshawa. The Purple Toads put out two albums; Durango 95 put out one album. The Boneyard Devils had one 45 and backed Jeff Connelly from the Lyres in a live Toronto appearance.
Drew replaced Jeff on guitar about November 1997. He had previously played in Drums Along The Gardiner (1986 to 1993 - Toronto) and is currently playing in Ratwurst and part-time band Stripper High.
Andrew replaced Zoltan about June 1998. Andrew had previously played in Drums Along The Gardiner in its last few years and also in part-time band Stripper High.
El Mocambo, August 29th 1998

Past Gigs
Sunday Nov. 14th 1999 - The Horseshoe Tavern,
Toronto
(Opening for The Dictators with The Chickens
- former UIC guys)
A great nite; lots of people and all the bands
were great too. Probably the best bill we've ever played on!
Probably the shortest set we've ever played!
The Dictators bring a bit of New York to Toronto,
so of course it was great. The fanatics went away satisfied.
Hopefully it won't be that long before they return again....can't wait!
Wed. Oct. 27th 1999 - Lee's Palace, Toronto
(w The Damned)
Rocked out, polite applause. The Damned are fortunate to have the Captain
and push-up breasts.
Wed. Oct. 13th 1999 - The El Mocambo, Toronto
(w Gut Truck)
Played to a few people - very few. Good practice though.
Fri. July 16th 1999 - The Horseshoe, Toronto
(with the Royal Crowns)
According to our usual collection of fans, the
gig sounded great and they all got drunk and enjoyed themselves.
The Royal Crowns played two sets and put on their usual outstanding show.
Wed. June 2 1999 - The Horseshoe, Toronto
(with The Gaza Strippers, Teen Crud Combo)
The crowd and the promoter loved us, so much so that we got our first
encore. I guess it helps if everyone has had more to drink.
Rob's guitar kept unplugging but the crowd went wild for more. The
Gaza Strippers headlined and the crowd crowded at the front. Teen
Crud Combo were a hardcore band whose whole set lasted 20 minutes.
Friday May 28th 1999 - El Mocambo, Toronto
(with Raw Dog (featuring ex-Dead Boy Johnny Blitz)
and Robb & the Rockets)
Played to a small crowd on the ground level part
of the club. Ho-hum. Rawdog were sorta metalcore (whatever)
- would make a good bill with the Liquor Pigs. Their set featured a few
Dead Boys songs - "What Love Is" and "Sonic Reducer". Robb &
the Rockets showed up late and sorta made up songs as they went.
Nov. 20 1998 - Big Bop Main Room, Toronto
(with The Liquor Pigs, Spotty Botty, D-Files)
