Your
Community
In
Wicca and all Earth based religions, everything on the planet is alive
and sacred. We as Witches, should do all we can to become active in making
the world a better place. Like the saying goes " If you're not part of
the solution, you're part of the problem". If we all become involved in
our community we can make a big difference. Not to mention the personal
joy you will feel :) Here are few ideas:

But
I really don't have the time!
If you
can't donate your time, donate some money. Even if you send one dollar
or a package of stamps to the cause of your choice you are making a difference.
Think about it. Is there something that you feel strongly about? Saving
whales, helping abandoned or abused animals, feeding the hungry. Couldn't
you spare a buck and a stamp once in a while to help these causes? Please
visit my support page for some ideas.
Educate
your community and friends about Witchcraft
There
are countless Witches in "the broom closet" or being harassed and persecuted
because many people really have no idea what we actually believe. Due to
decades of misrepresentation in the media, newspapers, books, T.V. shows
and news programs to name few, there are many more people who fear and
even hate us than understand us. If you are in a position where you can
educate others (without putting yourself in danger), there is a list of
ways to do this at The Witches Voice web site (the first link on the various
links page). Understanding and knowledge banishes fear.
In
General
I find
that little things you can do everyday can be a ritual in itself. Letting
people with less groceries ahead of you. Holding the door open for someone
who needs it. Picking up litter. Giving your seat to someone on public
transit and just being kind and friendly in general. Saying Hello &
Thank you to cashiers, tellers, bus drivers etc. Giving a Yule or Christmas
card to your doctor, local merchant, postal delivery person: people that
you deal with on a regular basis that provide you with a service that you
appreciate. A simple smile can make someone's day.
