Bird Feeder & Seed Germinators (submitted by Whispering Sparrow)

Milk cartons can be used for bird feeders and seed germinators, and most of all it’s easy!

All we did was cut out 2 holes on each side of the carton, the size doesn’t really matter, we made small ones and large ones, but only do 2 if you cut out 3 the feeder will constantly twirl. To secure it to a branch we used old ribbon, tied it around the handle and one of the hole openings and then around the branch (loosely). The birds love them!

For seed germinators, just cut the carton across the bottom, add dirt and seed. Make sure you soak the seeds first, we soaked ours for 24 hours and that seems to work well. We have also found that sunflower seeds ( from the bird seed, grows quickly). Do the same
for the 2 litre soda bottles. The kids love to watch them grow from infancy to adulthood. We will plant ours outside when the weather gets warmer.
