Double Chocolate Brownies
Ingredients:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325°F. Combine flour, baking soda and salt, set aside. In a small saucepan, combine butter, sugar and water; heat just to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup of chocolate chips and the vanilla. Stir until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually blend in flour mixture. Stir in remaining chips and nuts. Spread in a greased 9” square pan. Bake 30-35 minutes or until brownies test done. Cool completely and cut into squares.
Recipe may be doubled and baked in a 9”x13” pan, resulting in a thicker brownie. Bake 35-45 minutes.
Raspberry Variation
Before you bake it, warm up some raspberry
jam until liquidy, drip it around the top of the brownie mixture after
putting it into the pan, and swirl it around with a
toothpick (like marbleizing) to mix slightly
with the brownie mixture. It looks pretty when baked, and has hints of
raspberry when you eat it.
