Tools of the Craft - If You Need It...It Will Come.

Over 25 years ago, around the birth of the 'New Age' movement, I purchased a crystal ball the size of a golf ball (stand included), for
$20.00. I don't know why I wanted it, I just did, so I got it. This was long before computers and tons of books about Witchcraft and
gemstone power were everywhere. I knew I wasn't going to see a bunch of stuff when I looked at it. I didn't even know how to scry!
So I just charged it with my energy, put it on my altar when I did my spell work, and carried it around in a little pouch when I went
for long walks in the wilderness, not far away, so it could pick up the energy.

A few years later, a friend of mine became seriously ill. He asked if I'd perform a healing ritual for him, and I did. But for some
reason, I felt that I had to charge the crystal ball and give it to him. But he was under guard in a special wing of the hospital. I waited until midnight and went there. I pretended I was his sister that had just came all the way from Italy (using my best accent), and was finally allowed in his room for a few minutes. I placed the crystal ball in his hand, and sprinkles healing herbs around his bed, and got the heck out of there before I got arrested! The following day, he made a "miraculous recovery", the nurses said, and I was very pleased as he looked like he was half dead when I saw him the night before.

Later on, I regretted giving him the crystal ball, and was a bit upset that he didn't offer to give the crystal ball back once he got better. I couldn't buy another one, the store only had the one I bought, and they weren't going to order anymore, as the crystal ball had been there for a very long time before I bought it. "There's just no market for them." was what she said. And it was the only "New Age" store in the city, at the time.

As years passed I forgot about it...until about 10 years ago when I moved to my current location, and saw the same size ball in the
local Wicca Shop, only it didn't cost $20.00, it cost $135.00 (and that didn't even include the stand)! I couldn't believe it! I wanted it
sooo much! And every time I went to that shop, I looked at the biggest balls which cost $800.00, and another $60.00 for the stand
plus 15% tax..yikes! ! And to my surprise, he sold a lot of them. I'd go in one day and see six big ones, and various smaller ones,
then a few months later, only a few small ones were left.

Fast forward to November 2006. I was going through real a Witchcraft dry spell. I wasn't doing regular meditation, visualization, spells, and hadn't been doing any reading. One day I went up to my altar and noticed that it had a coat of dust on it! I was mortified! A dirty altar is very offensive to the "Powers that be", or whatever name you call them. For some reason, cleaning everything broke my dry spell, and I returned to my regular routine.

A few days later, as I headed to the grocery store, I decided to drop into this little clothing consignment store hoping to buy myself
a treat. Everything I wanted was too expensive. Then I happened upon a stunning, long, flowing black dress made of silk and lace with a velet lace scarf. I put it on and immediately new that it was to be my new ritual dress, and at $25.00, it was an incredible bargain. And boy did I need a new one! I brought it up to the counter and felt something under the dress.

It was a giant crystal ball. All those negative, nagging, regrets came back. I pointed at it and said "What's the damage for the crystal ball (meaning how much does it cost.) I knew I couldn't afford it, I was just curious what a used crystal ball was going for these days. It was.....get this...$20.00 ,(including stand) and NO tax!!! I could NOT believe it. I really couldn't! It was the same price as the golf ball sized one I gave to my friend over 20 years ago.

That it would grace my altar. I felt like shouting with joy. She even gave me a hand bag for free, to carry the crystal ball in. But the
moment I saw the bag, the words "crane bag" immidiately came to mind. A crane bag is what Druids call the bag they carry around
when collecting gifts from the earth. Like when you find a perfect feather in the centre of a side walk, and so on. And I didn't have
one.

But why did I get it now, after all these years? And why did I lose my old one? I meditated on it. I realized that I wasn't ready to
have a crystal ball over 20 years ago. I mean, come on...I didn't even know what to do with it! I didn't give it the respect it deserved,
and if it really meant that much to me, I should've simply asked for it back once my friend got well. And as I said at the beginning of
this story, "I knew I wasn't going to see a bunch of stuff when I looked at it." If you 'know' or even think you won't see anything
when you scry, you definitely won't. You told yourself you wouldn't, so why would you?

I now know you see things when you scry as I've done so many times with a scrying mirror. (There are directions on how to make
one in the crafts section) And believe me, I've had some pretty amazing experiences. So while it took me over 20 years of waiting, I
finally got not only a crystal ball, but the very one I secretly longed for, at the same price I paid for the golf ball sized one I bought all those years ago. The photo below shows just how big it actually is.

Now that's one big crystal ball! The little circular impression in the crystal is just a bit smaller than the original one I had. The moral
of this story is that if you want something bad enough, you will get it, if you are supposed to have it, when you're supposed to
have it. It may take a very long time to get it, but if you're meant to have it, it will come...eventually. So never lose hope. If you
need it, it will come!
