During the winter I enjoy cross country skiing. I usually go on day trips with the Scarborough Cross Country Ski Club. Most of the places we go are within a hour or so drive north of Toronto. I also enjoy the occasional outing downhill skiing

In 2005, I participated in the Canadian Ski Marathon, an annual cross country ski event in Québec, from Lachute to Gatineau. I chose the Coureurs des Bois class, which requires skiing 5 sections of approximately 80km each day for a total of 160km over the two days. I almost made it, but on the first day, missed the cut-off time of 3:15pm to start the 5th section by 15 minutes. I did the last three sections (8, 9, 10) on the second day and had a wonderful ski over 40km of beautiful trails under clear, sunny skis.
