This Spring Yoga Retreat is being held during the Victoria Day long weekend, May 16 - May 19, 2008.
We invite you to enjoy your stay for the full 3-day weekend concluding mid-day on the holiday Monday.
Or you can choose to be with us for the regular 2-day retreat from Friday until Sunday.
The extra day promises to offer more yoga experiences and other special activities.
The idea of planting seeds is an appropriate metaphor for this Spring Yoga Retreat. Particularly when you couple that with the idea of prosperity. Prosperity is often understood as financial well-being, but it is much more than that. Real prosperity also means well-being in all areas of life.
According to the yogic tradition, prosperity and abundance apply to every dimension of our lives, from material wealth to spiritual sustenance and growth. Mind, body and spirit.
During this weekend we will discover how the practices of yoga can be a gateway to the creation of prosperity in our lives. With that, we will experience and learn techniques that will support us in creating more prosperity and abundance.
It doesn't matter if you are new to yoga or have a regular practice. This retreat is for you to start where you are and trust the process and power of yoga as a means for personal transformation. A time to plant the seeds and cultivate the ground of your own practice in order to reap the benefits of peace, prosperity and abundance.
We will
be offering a variety of activities and tools as we explore the depth of yoga.
These weekend activities include:
Kripalu
Yoga Classes | Experiential Workshops
| Chanting
Sharing
Circles | Delicious Healthy Meals
| Massage
All
activities during the retreat are optional.
Kripalu
Yoga Classes
Kripalu
yoga is yoga of compassion that encourages learning to love and
nurture your body and self-acceptance. It is a complete system of
yoga with emphasis on Pranayama (breath), Asana (postures) and relaxation.
Each person chooses the level of physical intensity right for him
or her. The yoga postures help to release tension, stretch and strengthen,
improve flexibility and increase self-awareness. The practice works
to awaken and develop Prana (the energy body) that is the link between
body, mind and spirit. Kripalu yoga offers tools to facilitate psychological
growth and empower the students to apply the principles of yoga
off the mat in daily life. This helps to remove obstacles that inhibit
growth. The effects of Kripalu yoga can be experienced as increased
energy, calm mental clarity and focus, greater vitality and feeling
more fully alive.

We will
be leading early morning and afternoon Kripalu Yoga classes
throughout the weekend. Classes are all held in the beautiful
Still Point yoga studio perched on the shore of the Bay of
Quinte.
All yoga
classes are multi-level. No previous yoga experience is necessary.
Everyone will be able to practice at their own comfort level.
We are using yoga as a tool of self-discovery.

Experiential
Workshops
In addition to the yoga classes, we will be leading experiential workshops.
In these workshops we will:
- include activities and teachings from the Kripalu tradition that will help develop and deepen our practice
- explore the power of mantra for attracting and manifesting abundance in our lives
-
experience the deep and profound journey of guided meditation
- incorporate experiences from the healing modality of Rapid Eye Technology to help release blockages
- do an energy-based
manifestation circle - a powerful technique for creating what
we desire
- and more...
Chanting
Singing and
chanting are joyful and effective ways of creating positive change
in our lives. We will share the experience of Kirtan - devotional
chanting - to experience the wonders of sound on the chakra system
and our sense of well-being. Chanting can help to open the heart
and allow us to become more compassionate and loving to ourselves
and others.
Sharing
Circles
Sharing Circles
are a common ritual in many cultures and spiritual traditions. We
will provide a safe and sacred space where you will have the opportunity
to have your voice heard in a non-judgmental respectful environment.
This heart-opening process can be very healing as we learn to trust
our inner voice and wisdom.
