Updates16/04/2007 - The review for We, the Living from http://www.yetanotherbookreview.com has just come out and it's an excellent one. When I began writing these books a few years ago, I just hoped I'd write a decent story that people who knew me would like. It's really gratifying to know that connoisseurs of the genre find it entertaining as well. Thank you to the reviewers for their help. 27/11/2006 - yetanotherbookreview.com/ashes_of_alladag.htm has just put out their review on The Ashes of Alladag and, as positive as the first review was, this one is even more enthusiastic. Go there when you're done with this site to check them out. 07-09-2006 - Another great review, this one for The Curse of Garnel Ironheart from an independent website, www.yetanotherbookreview.com. I encourage you to go and check their site out but only after buying and reading all of my books first! 27-07-2006 - A new look for the website. Some people (okay, only one but when traffic is as limited as it is you have to go with individual opinions) felt the black background and white type were jarring. So here's another attempt to please my public. 27-06-2006 - Finally, an update. It was scary for a while. I ignored this site for so long the redirect feature to get people here expired and I had to re-buy it. There has been no further movement on the books. It's almost impossible to get a copy of the first book but I have lots of unsold copies of the other two. Come on down and get them. Please!!! There is now a new feature to this website that I'm proud to announce. I'm going to try and start writing opinion pieces on various subjects, hence the addition of the Opinions button at the left. If you like what I have to say, let me know. If you don't, let me know (respectfully please). What I'm hoping for is good feedback. 05-12-2005 - Thanks to everyone who came out to the book launch on Sunday. The event was a success, all the seats were filled and we even sold a few books. For those fans unable to attend, many, many, many copies of the three books in the Trilogy are still available, including at my office where they can be bought tax-free. Yes, that's right. Get some great reading material without supporting the Quebec branch of the Liberal Party! As to when the next update to this site will be, I don't know. At this point, the books are done and there are no current plans for a sequel. If that changes, I will let everyone know. Michael B. Davie, publisher, editor, and (I think) sole employee of Manor House Publishing whose support allowed this project to succeed as much as it has informed me at the launch that there may be one further event to promote the books and hopefully increase their renown. 21-10-2005 - The date is official. We, the Living will be launched at Chapters in Ancaster, Ontario on December 4 from 1 - 3 pm. Please come out and make this event a large success. ALSO, as an added bonus, check out the prologue of the book which (until there's another printing) will only be available on line! 10-10-2005 - Finally, a major update to the site! I've spent time compiling brief summaries and reviews of several major fantasy works I've read over the last few years. They're in their own section. I welcome any comments on them and if you have a book you want to see featured, please send me your summary and review. You can praise the book or condemn it all you want. Keep in mind I reserve the right to edit for length and mind-bogglingly stupid comments. 16-09-2005 - No, I haven't forgotten about this site. I'm actually planning a new section comprising my reviews of major fantasy novels I've read in the last few years. But for now, check out the kind and surprisingly accurate review of The Ashes of Alladag by Dodi-Lee Hecht. Her work can also be seen at www.nishma.org which is a Jewish website run by a family of ultra-genius types. 04-07-2005 - What I hope are the final versions of the front and back covers of We, the Living have now been posted. 20/06/2005 - The contract for Manor House Publishing to release We, the Living was signed today as well as all the other necessary paperwork. We're currently looking at a fall release date so that the official release can preceded the holiday shopping madness. 31/05/2005 - If you get a chance, check out the new Manor House Publishing website. After 2 years of promising an upgrade, it finally has been and now, for the first time, includes an excerpt from The Ashes of Alladag. Information on any publicity for We, the Living will be posted there as well as on this site. 30/05/2005 - The final draft of We, the Living is complete. Thank you to Terry Rodgers, Charles Gadalla, Shirley Ferster and Shi Sherebrin for their feedback and editing work. I've sent off the manuscript to the publisher and hope to hear from him soon. 04/05/2005 - Well, given the feedback, I've chosen what I think will be the front cover of the book and relegated the other picture to the back cover. The new version is posted. Feedback is always welcome. 03/05/2005 - The final draft of We, The Living is almost done. At this point, it will be 28 chapters long with a prologue and epilogue (so I guess that's really 30 chapters). This is a far shorter book than originally envisioned and after the release of the book, I will hopefully be posting most of what was edited out, just like I did with the first two books. AS WELL, I have acquired a second piece of art for the cover of the book from Mr. Robert Wayt Smith, the artist whose Undead Sentry graced the cover of The Curse of Garnel Ironheart. This piece is called March of the Dead and fits very well into the story. If I go with this for the front cover, the previous tentative cover will go on the back. 15/04/2005 - Work is still proceeding on We, The Living which is now 2/3 of the way through the 4th draft. Also, the tentative cover has been posted in the book's section. A big thank you to Ms. Mollie Callaghan of Stoney Creek, Ontario who is clearly a talented artist and a big fan. 31/03/2005 - The third draft of We, The Living is done. At this point, using the format of the first two books, it's about 409-414 pages long. That's a few more than the 384 pages that the publisher, Michael Davie, was hoping for and that's after cutting about 45 pages and foregoing two whole chapters of material. So there's a bit more more to do. 16/03/2005 - More excerpts posted! 01/03/2005 - The third draft of We, The Living is about 2/3 done now and looking really good. This is something I should have done with the other two books but I've printed out all the chapters and am manually going through them to cut out the fluff and inconsistencies. I find I just can do that well on a computer screen. Also, there is a teaser for the book in its section now. More news soon, hopefully. 27/01/2005 - The book launch on the 23rd was a big success. Thank you to everyone who came out to show their support. As well, the 2nd draft of We, The Living is finally done. Two more drafts and it'll be ready for submission. 20/01/2005 - There will be a book launch and reading for The Ashes of Alladag at the Chapters store in Ancaster, Ontario on January 23, from 1 - 4 pm. Copies of the 1st two books of the trilogy will be on sale. Come out and have some fun. As for book 3, the work is continuing slowly but steadily. It's looking like it will be the best one in the series.
