GUIDE TO THE WHISKEY-JACK SITE
Numerous links to other sites are provided on each individual page of this website. The content of the various links is not controlled by this website and so may change from time to time.
To minimize scrolling after you return from a linked-to site, bookmark areas identified as "Bookmark here" are provided to make the system return nearby to the point of departure. Just click on it to "mark the territory" before departing. Note that this does not affect in any way the "Bookmarks" or "Favorites" of your browser
The site is divided into the following sections or features, selectable from the menu located in the frame to the left. Some pages, containing images may take a little longer to load, so please have patience.
Welcome: This selection brings back the brief "Welcome To" page, to be followed by the "Intro/Home" page.
Intro/Home: This selection brings up the "Intro/Home" page. It is the first page encountered after the brief "Welcome" page.
Guide: This is the page you are looking at now. It is a description of the site and a collection of general comments for the visitor.
Birding: A consideration of birdwatching (birding) as a potential source of casual enjoyment for the layman.
Gray Jay: A monograph on the Gray Jay and the extensive research done on this bird in Algonquin Park.
Other birds: A collection of descriptive articles about other bird species that might be considered unusual and thus interesting. Each article contains specific references or links to sources of further information.
Migration: A monograph on the various aspects of bird migration including theories, examples, perils, and the threat posed by mankind's various "developments".
Naturalist: A section devoted to naturalist subjects - "From Butterflies to Walking sticks".
Photographs: this is a very informal collection of naturalist photographs that will be revised randomly from time to time. It is envisaged that the revisions will simply "add to the top and take away from the bottom" of the lists.
New #__: A description of recent revisions to the site, with an assigned sequence number. This provides the visitor with a clue as to whether there have been any significant changes made since the last visit. Various minor "cosmetic" changes made from time to time will not necessarily advance this number.
References: This page contains more general and additional references and links to related sites of interest. The section also includes a listing of credits and acknowledgements of individuals and organizations that provided assistance and guidance towards the inaugural publishing of this website. A note regarding copyrighted material is also on this page.
