About AY
Top-Quality Services
Alan Yoshioka (AY) loves to help get the right message out. His dedication, tact, insight, and keen eye for detail enhance every project he tackles, whether as an editor, proofreader, writer, or indexer.
Alan devotes much of his working time to medical science, though he welcomes projects in fields such as religion, law, history, and music. Before starting AY’s Edit, he earned recognition at a major pharmaceutical company for producing top-quality scientific reports within tight timelines.
Professional Development
A member of the Editors’ Association of Canada (EAC) since
1999, Alan served for six years
on the association’s Toronto branch executive, including two as branch
chair. At EAC’s national level, he spearheaded the very successful

Directory of Editors. He has given presentations on medical editing
at EAC’s annual national conference and in other venues.
Alan is a professional member of The Word Guild,
for which he has judged two annual contests for new non-fiction authors.
He belongs to the Indexing Society of Canada (ISC) as well as special interest groups for scientific indexing and historical indexing and a group for peer review of indexes.
