Falcon's Trumpet" of R. Murray Schafer, Canadian Premiere of "Mechanik" by Philip Cashian (England), Charles Ives "The Unanswered Question" and World Premieres of works by student composers from these schools. A

Another free concert of World Premieres takes place at Innis Town Hall (2
Sussex Avenue. St. George St. south of Bloor St.) on Thursday May 8 with works by Eugene Astapov, Nick Martin, Fuhong Shi, Lee Parkin and Chris Mayo. Also included in the evening is a John Rea Forum. The paper he
will present for discussion and debate is titled "How Do You Know When You're Good? (on value and imagination in new concert music)". Concert begins at 7:00 pm.
The New Wave Festival concludes on Sunday May 11
with a concert called "Energized Sonic Impact" featuring percussionist Ryan Scott. World Premieres by Canadians Petar Klanac and David Adamcyk along with music by Brian Current of Canada and Maki Ishii of Japan.

Sinfonia Toronto: Violinist Judith Kang

Great Canadian violin virtuoso Judy Kang will be the guest artist for this final concert of Sinfonia Toronto's Masterpiece Series. She will be heard in Tartini's Devil's Trill and Kreisler's beloved violin miniatures of Liebesleid and Liebesfreud. Music Director Nurhan Arman will conduct Dvorak's romantic Serenade, one of the Czech composer's most beautiful and folkloric works.
Critically acclaimed violinist Judy Kang appeared on the music scene at the age of ten, in a performance with the National Arts Center Orchestra. The Ottawa Citizen enthusiastically stated, "If there was
a star tonight, it was Judy Kang. Blessed with a gift for the violin that is exceptional, she moves about the instrument at her disposal with an ease that is awe-inspiring."

Shakespearean England. Soprano Hallie Fishel and lutenist John Edwards present A Defence of Ryme: Songs to the Poetry of Thomas Campion and Samuel Daniel. Thomas Campion (1568-1620) and Samuel Daniel
(1562-1619) represented opposing theoretical viewpoints in the polemical pamphlet wars that raged in Shakespearean England's poetry scene. Campion wrote a pamphlet on The Art of English Poesie,
advocating that his contemporaries imitate Latin and Greek verse in their poetry. He believed that English was best reserved for light, lyrical verse.

International Piano Competition, joins the orchestra in the first half for Haydn's Piano Concerto No. 11 in D, Hob. XVIII. In the second half, she returns for the witty, often sardonic Piano Concerto No. 1 in C minor
