SAD
NEWS:
Glen Buxton of the original Alice Cooper band passed away today, October 20, 1997. Alice, after hearing of Glen's death said, "I grew up with Glen, started the band with him, and he was one of my best friends. I think I laughed more with him than anyone else. He was an under-rated, influential guitar player and a genuine rock n' roll rebel. Wherever he is now, I'm sure that there's a cigarette butt and a switchblade near by."

CONCERT REVIEWS:

"I saw the show last night at the House of Blues (Aug. 18, 98). Everything sounded great!!! A lot of the old song that haven't been heard for some time, which is real cool!! This band that Alice has now can play the old songs the way they should sound, without adding 80's metal guitar where it doesn't belong. This band can play the styles of the old songs and also the new songs both very well. "Halo of Flies" sounded fantastic!! I was hoping to hear "Gutter Cats versus the Jets", "Muscle Of Love", and "Welcome to my Nightmare", but you can't have everything. "Jail House Rock" sounded real cool and was totally unexpected, at least by me. I read where some songs off "Pretties for You" and "Easy Action" were being consider for being re-done; sort of like the way "Reflected" was revamped and turned into the powerhouse "Elected". "Mister and Misdemeanor" and "Return of the Spiders" were two songs that I thought had great potential and if they had been produced by Bob Ezrin would have been very big hits. Is Alice going to record with this hot band? Is Alice ever going to record with any of the surviving members of his original band (Sorry to hear of Glenn Buxton's passing). What about Steve Hunter or Dick Wagner? Does Alice plan on working with Bob Ezrin ever again? He really brought out the best in Alice. Keep us posted. Alice ROCKS!!!" - Review by Larry from ???

"Drove to Cleveland in 4 hours from the Niagara Falls area; had good tickets and ALICE was KILLER! He definitely put on a great show and I am looking forward to the next time he is within 6 hours of Niagara...I will definitely make the trip...yeah, I'm an Alice Fanatic, but Hey, Why do you think they call me the Rockman in the first place?..." - Review by Ken from Niagra Falls, Ontario, Canada

"G'Day Omega fang here. The Australian gigs at Melbourne & Sydney where similar but both had an atmosphere of there own. I drove from Sydney [the Olympic city] to Melbourne, a nine & a half hour drive during which I listened to every album from Easy Action to Raise Your Fist. Found the entertainment centre, had a short nap and off to the show got my ticket, sh*t seat, l got through security with my tele-photo camera. Saw Mac, he had third row & 2 portable recorders in his bag & asked me to take one back to my sh*t seat. Past security to the 3rd row, then I said well I'm not going anywhere now except for forward, before we know it Mac, AC & me are front row for ALICE. The carnival music played & on came the COOP looking fine in black leather pants & ruffle shirt singing Hello Hooray he also did Elected & Unfinished Sweet, for which I was grateful B$B being my favorite album. He didn't stop there pumping out song after song, hit after hit, from KILLER, On the inside, Temptation doing costume changes, giving out dollar bills on the end of his sword, amazing us with illusions & throwing out his cane which danced on fan's fingertips till I lashed out with the speed of a snake had it in full grasp of my left hand brought it down to my mid section & got both hands on it, by this stage I have got a guy on either side of me & one on my back all trying to relieve me of my prize [NO HOPE]. Sydney was more of the same this time my wife narrowly missed the cane. WE got back stage meet the band & Sheryl but ALICE didn't show. When he left the stage in Sydney his parting words were "see ya next year". We can't wait." - Review by Fang from Sydney, Australia

"Alice played 3 shows between Christmas + New years 97. The short tour was called "Yule's Out". He played one show in Indiana on 12-29, Grand Rapids, MI on 12-30 and Detroit on 12-31. I saw the 12-30 show and it was great. Kind of a "Carnival Theme" with clowns running on and off the stage a lot. Highlites included "Public Animal #9" "Halo Of Flies" and the most surprising of all Alice strapping on a guitar to play rythim on "Eighteen". Yes...play guitar!!! The sold out show was at the "Orbit Room" which holds only about 1800 and I was right up front. Rock On Alice.
P.S. The first time I saw Alice was in 1975 and I've seen 7 or 8 shows since. All of them great." - Review by Jerry from Grand Rapids, Michigan, U.S.A.

"My name is Daniel. For many years I have been being Alice's maniac fan. I love his music, shows, image. I am really crazy about him. So I was deeply happy to witness Alice's show for the very first time in Poland. It was great feeling to see Alice live in action. Besides I managed to take a picture with him! He also signed my ticket! He is a really nice guy...Here in Poland it is very hard to find and buy all Alice's CDs..." - Review by Daniel from Poland

"Hace poco, puy poco, (14/7/97) Alice Cooper ha estado tocando en Espana por primera vez. Ha sido, tambiin, la primera vez que he podido verle, y me ha parecido un espectaculo maravilloso. Espero que vuelva a tocar nuevamente en Espana para poder ver lo que realmente es su puesta en escena, ya que en esta ocasisn sslo tocs una hora y media. Seguro que si viniese solo serma algo grandioso." - Review by ??? from Spain

"...as you pointed out Alice is the son of a minister but I have some insight on the real Alice that might intrigue you. First I should tell you that I am a Phoenix native so we regard Alice as our native son type hero.- anyway to the point last Halloween (96) Alice put on a benifit for the Solid Rock Foundation, a group He put together with Gerry Colangelo (owner of the Suns/Diamondbacks) at America West arena. At the event which featured A.C Green, Glen Campbell, and was hosted by local christian band Everybodyduck, Alice took the stage to talk to the audience about his relationship with his savior Jesus Christ, He had a short Q&A session in which he talked about his personal bible study habits and somewhat renounced his past (he never really took himself that seriously to begin with) He said his new cd would reflect the changes he's gone through. I would be surprised to see a radical national "coming out" about his christianity very soon as he really is a shy person under the persona as you probobly know. But look just under the surface very closely and you'll see he's not the same man he used to be. Everything I have told you about you can verify. There was a feature story on this in the Arizona Republic a few days before haloween. I'm sure You can get the Solid Rock foundations Address through the web. I had the pleasure to meet at the show and found him to be a nice man. It takes a lot of guts to admit your past mistakes and to publicly testify that Jesus is Lord. He is and He's only getting started with Alice so watch and see." - Review by George Lindbloom from Phoenix, Arizona, U.S.A.

"I saw Alice in saginaw Dec. 29 (1996), it was my fourth time, and he looked, sang and entertained better than any other time I saw him. He didn't use any props but he sang so good I didn't care. Even when he was younger he didn't do as well. Ted Nugent came out and actually had to beg for applause. He would play some distorted solo and stop and put up his arms like he was god, and the house was polite but Alice had already blown the crowd away. He was simply out done. I saw Ozzy twice this year and as I try to tell the grunge fans, the older metal guys really know how to put on a show. They are all cleaned up and better than ever, and they know how to have fun on stage, and the crowd reacts to that. I hope metal does make a comeback, It is better than the depressing grunge and alternative b*llsh*t!" - Review by Bill Favel from Saginaw, Michigan, U.S.A.

"I saw Alice for the first time last summer at Jones Beach. He opened up for the Scorpions, but they should have opened up for HIM! I have been a fan of Alice for a long time, have the cds, the videos, and even the movie. (Monster Dog). But to finally see him in person was UNBELIEVABLE!! I had seats about 9/10 rows from the stage. He did all his old hits along with a few from the new album. The band sounded great and the it couldnt have been a better night. I am looking forward to seeing him again this SUMMER!!!!!!" - Review by Joe from Whitestone, New York, U.S.A.

"I have been an Alice fan since i was a kid. I live in Vancouver and last summer ('96), i saw Him for the first time. It was magical, i can't explain how i felt. Alice knows how to perform and entertain the people. When it came to the song School's Out i must admit, i felt a tear run down my face. I had just graduated from high school a few weeks ealier and Alice was with me through all those years. Alice Cooper is a God. Alice can come back to Vancouver anytime." - Review by Bomb from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

"Wolverhampton U.K. Gig July 4 1997 - I saw Alice at the civic hall and he really was a blast. The Theatrics were minimal ,maybe because of the small venue but well done. I was a little disappointed not to see the snake (maybe it had a sore throat - big problem if you're a snake) and no execution. However Alice was in fine form and his voice sounded better than ever. I saw him on the Special Forces tour and though there was much more in the way of Theatrics Alice himself was, I felt, below par. - No pun intended - Maybe it was an off night. Like I said, not so this time. The show was wonderful, Alice was pure entertainment and I left the show feeling 10 years younger. My wife who has never really been a fan has been humming and singing Cooper songs ever since. The band was excellant and made all the old hits and some of the new sound fresh and exciting as the day they were released. The best night of my life ever! A question; Lots of people have been telling me that alice will retire, at least from touring when he hits the big 50. I hope this is not true as I would hate to think that I will never see him in person again. He has still got what it takes and as long as he is enjoying himself I hope he can continue." - Review by Sid from Wolverhampton, England

"...I just cannot understand why some people are so upset about his religion! It is just his personal decision and I am not going to judge it. Why should there be anything wrong about it? And the more I don't believe this means a huge change for his fans- at least I do not believe it means any disadvantage. All I can say is this: I have seen ALICE & BAND live a few days ago at the Loreley in Germany (July 20, 1997). I really had my fun, I liked the show and the band seemed to be good aswell. They played lots of old songs ("Halo Of Flies"-hoorayhh!!!) and the newer ones were just as good from my point of view! So there was really nothing to complain about and I do hope he's going to do another tour soon (Alice said: "See ya next year!"). That's it for today. All my best wishes & enjoy the music & carpe diem!!!" - Review by Jessi from Duesseldorf, Germany

Fistful Of Alice (1997) CD Reviews:
"I do not have a favorite record or song...i enjoy all of Alice Cooper's music as an entity..no one song or album better than another...like all big fans i have all of his records and then some..im supportive of any record that comes out or what ever the direction the music takes on...i do enjoy the live record with the good rockin band he has now as well as the special guest stars that appear on the record and the couple of songs he pulled out of the woodwork that made the record ie 'Teenage Lament" & "I Never Cry"....how ever i would of preferred a live unplugged record instead...my reasononing for this??? Like many of his contemparies, it would give him a chance to activate some old neglected materail that has been on the shelf for a while such as songs like "Generation Lanslide", "Guilty", "Dance Yourself To Death" ,"I Never Cry" , "Teenage Lament" as well as new material also "Its Me" and "Sideshow" and of course some old classics that could find there way into something like this ie "Nightmare", "Only Women Bleed", "18" w/harmonica etc, etc...now i know the back catalouge of material for a project like this is debatable...this sort of project gives old songs like these new life and at the same time give some of the more hard rock anthems that we all love of course but here time and time again, some much needed rest...a tour for this???? No certainly not...however, maybe a 2-3 song sequence could be intergrated into the live set seeing that the more recent tours have been light on theatrics..this would be a good time for something of this nature...just one man's opinion." Review by Andy from ???
"...Just to let you know, i recieved and listened to 'A Fistful of Alice' yesterday, and it rocks. I usually hate live albums, but this one is great. Just wish the Coop could have toured near me sometime..." - Review by Tabaqui from ???

Alice Cooper CD Review: "This is raw Alice before he achieved fame. A couple of the tracks sound like Elvis was singing but most of them are good raw rock songs by a band in its beginning stretch into music. The tracks are: Ain't That Just Like A Woman, Painting A Picture, An Instrumental, I've Written Home To Mother, Freak Out Song, Goin' To The River, Nobody Likes Me and Science Fiction." - Review by :-)Omega(-: from Toronto, Canada

Billion Dollar Babies (1973) CD Review: "The definitive Alice Cooper album for many people. The Coop's performance is never sharper and the songs never more a perfect marriage of hard rock and ghoulish humour than on Billion Dollar Babies. It also has many of the songs we commonly associate Alice with - the title cut, "Hello Hooray," "Elected," and "No More Mr. Nice Guy." But really, from those hits to other cuts like "Generation Landslide" and "I Love the Dead," there isn't a single track here that isn't absolutely brilliant." - Review by Gerald Tan from Singapore

Constrictor CD Review: "Alice finally pulls up his sinking profile of the 80's a bit with this album. Although it still needs work, it is his best album in a while. Look for the songs Teenage Frankenstein and He's Back (The Man Behind The Mask) in the movie Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives." Review by Barry from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

Da-Da CD Review:"Although it will never appear on any "favorite" lists, one of my all-time favorite Cooper album is "DA-DA". It created such a mood and invoked certain feelings that Alice hasnt been able to pull out of himself lately. It shows me that is able to say to hell with what is commercial and do something that he wants to do (Ala- "Lace and Whiskey"). It has the far out musical arangement and gut wrenching vocals that was put into his early efforts." Review by Michael J Swiney from ???

Flush The Fashion (1980) CD Review: "One of Alice's weaker albums. Synthesizers and below-par compositions make this one sound like one of your run-of-the-mill New Wave rock records ala The Cars. Nevertheless, it contains the minor hit "Clones (Were All)," and a few decent numbers like "Grim Facts" and "Dance Yourself to Death." - Review by Gerald Tan from Singapore

Freedom For Frankenstein (199?) CD Review: "...I just bought this cd. It is another "Best of" kind of album, but it includes some real good live recordings. My two favourites are "Go to hell" and "Ballad of Dwight Fry". I have not heard those two live recordings before. They are real good. Two other live songs is from the Electric lady land 1991 show. They are "Sick Things" and "Only women Bleed/Wind up toy". Also on the album are the three songs "I got a line on you", "It rained all night" and "Fire". A very nice and well done booklet, with many good pictures. And the text is written by Andrew Carpenter (know as Australia's biggest Alice Cooper fan). Other songs on the album is "He's Back", "Teenage Frankenstein", "Freedom", "House of Fire" and "Sideshow". A good album!" - Review by Erik Holmstrom from Sweden

Goes To Hell CD Review: "This is your average Alice CD. The tracks are a lot more mellow than I expected from a CD with this kind of title. I enjoyed listening to it but it does not leave me humming any of its tracks which good songs tend to do. The tracks on the CD are: 1. Go To Hell; 2. You Gotta Dance; 3. I'm The Coolest; 4. Didn't We Meet; 5. I Never Cry; 6. Give The Kid A Break; 7. Guilty; 8. Wake Me Gently; 9.Wish You Were Here; 10. I'm Always Chasing Rainbows; 11.Going Home." - Review by :-)Omega(-: from Toronto, Canada

Greatest Hits CD Review: "Non-stop listening enjoyment, covering all the Alice Cooper group's hits." Review by Barry from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

Hey Stoopid CD Review: "Alice's string of hits continues with Hey Stoopid, introducing classic songs such as the title track, Might As Well Be On Mars, Love's a Loaded Gun, and, of course, Feed My Frankenstein. Also a key album in Alice's career, this one is not to be overlooked." Review by Barry from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

Killer (1971) CD Review: "A good CD with couple of Alice tracks that have become clasics like: Desperado and Dead Babies. The other tracks on this CD are: Under My Wheels; Be My Lover; Halo Of Files; You Drive Me Nervous; Yeah, Yeah, Yeah and Killer." - Review by :-)Omega(-: from Toronto, Canada

Love It To Death CD Review: "The band's first album to reach the charts contains hits like I'm Eighteen and Is it My Body. It is also filled with bizarre songs like Black Juju and Ballad of Dwight Fry, which has proved to be the favoraite AC song of many fans." Review by Barry from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

Prince Of Darkness (1989) CD Review: "A great CD with some of my favourites on it like: Teenage Frankenstein, He's Back (The Man Behind The Mask), Billion Dollar Babies, Simple Disobedience, Thrill My Gorilla and Life And Death Of The Party. Other tracks on this CD are: Prince Of Darkness, Roses On White Lace, Lock Me Up and Freedom." - Review by :-)Omega(-: from Toronto, Canada

Raise Your Fist And Yell CD Review: "...The review of Last Temp said it was the heaviest album he has ever done...not true - Raise Your Fist And Yell anyone would agree is the heaviest metal-type album he's ever done!" - Review by Sam from ???

School's Out (1972) CD Review: "The title-cut, a perennial Cooper anthem, is probably the only song on this album most people would be familiar with. All the other songs here are also about academic delinquency, making this something of a concept album. Other worthy Alice classics here include "Alma Mater," "Public Animal #9" and "Blue Turk," which sounds like The Doors playing Broadway. A good album, but understandably overshadowed by the original group's next... Billion Dollar Babies." - Review by Gerald Tan from Singapore

Science Fiction CD Review: "This is the same CD reviewed above called Alice Cooper just with a different name. All the tracks are the same as the other CD" - Review by :-)Omega(-: from Toronto, Canada

Special Forces (1981) CD Review: "Although it is not generally considered one of the best albums, "Special Forces" shows the changes that Alice was going through. The album itself, which has its roots in 1980's "Flush The Fashion," depicts a very nationalistic Alice emerging from the shock version of his persona of the 1970's. In his own words, Alice has stated that he was trying to be like Patton, because Patton was THE General, and goes on to say that the SF Alice is even beyond that. While the album is, as stated, not one of the favorites of fans, the albums still yields several favorite songs such as "Skeletons In The Closet," "You Look Good In Rags," and "Prettiest Cop On The Block." Needless to say, this album was more about image than music. But is it perhaps one in the same?" - Review by Brett Cooper from Wasilla, Alaska, U.S.A.

The Alice Cooper Show CD Review: "After waiting for about seven years, this live album lacks the energy we would expect from the Coop. For songs such as Eighteen and School's Out, Alice doesn't even sing all the verses! Maybe Fistful Of Alice will be better." Review by Barry from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

The Last Temptation CD Reviews:
"ya know what. I just read all the different comments bout A.C. and let me tell you I was prob his biggest fan bar none while I was a hardcore druggie and alchie, but then I found the missing part to my puzzle "JESUS CHRIST" then I gave up this style of music...now let me tell ya something I am proud to say I listen to the coop again since the release of Last Temptation...Thank the Lord that I can once again enjoy the style of music the coop has always produced but now he has much more positive lyrics...for those of you who want to condemn this man for wanting to share the joy Christ gives him to you be the problem but you too can have the same joy and love that A.C." Review by Jerry from ???
"Alice returns to his bizarre ways that annoyed parents with what is probably his strangest album to date. The album is quite intriguing; each of the ten tracks unfold like a chapter in a book. It is also probably Alice's heaviest album to date--many of the strange tracks give off a feeling of Ozzy. Great album, but garrenteed to give the kiddies bad dreams..." Review by Barry from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.
"As a Christian who loves rock & roll and heavy metal, I was just amazed to "discover" Last Temptation just last month! The CD is an incredible story with deeply profound, spiritual and rocking songs. I must admit I was never really an Alice Cooper fan back in the 60's and 70's, but I am now! To God be the glory!" Review by ??? from ???
"I'm 16 years old and I discover you at 1995 with the album The Last Temptation. I like it, most of all Stolen Prayer and Cleansed by fire. I don't listened you in others albums but I think you are a excelent music. The letters are real and truth and I like it's." Review by ??? from Spain
"I just want to get a few things off my chest. I have been an Alice Cooper fans for quite a long time now, and I wish everyone would quit freaking out over Alice becoming a Christian. C'mon, he's still the same old Alice. I personally thinks that it is great that he still performs all of his old and new material despite his new found lifestyle. Alice knows how importent his fans are. And furthermore, anyone who does not like The Last Temptation is not a true Alice fan. Because Temptation is the first album since the 70's that actually sounds like old Alice. The Last Temptation is brilliant. Christian or not, long live Alice Cooper." Review by Tim Biancoveli from Jacksonville, Florida, U.S.A.

Trash CD Review: "The hit track Poison brought Alice back to the popularity he had in the 70's, with hit songs like House of Fire and Bed of Nails to back it up. Obviously Alice's best studio album since Welcome To My Nightmare and full of fun and enchanting rock." Review by Barry from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

Welcome To My Nightmare CD Reviews:
"Alice's first solo album has a perfect balance of classic rock, ballads, and very bizarre songs such as Steven. Obviously one of his best solo albums. Look for the Vincent Price monologue in the song Devil's Food." Review by Barry from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.
"My favorite Alice album is Welcome To My Nightmare. I think it has all the elements of true cooperism: sexual deviance (Cold Ethyl), depressing love stuff (Only Women Bleed), showmanism (Welcome To My Nightmare), youth anthems (Department Of Youth), rock n' roll anthems (Escape), comments on society (Some Folks), demented children (Years Ago and Steven), demented alice (The Awakening), and even a cameo from the great Vincent Price. Besides that there is the great cover with Alice in his tux and a spider on his hand (and the ever-present top hat). In this album, ALice has fully matured and comes at you full force, like a snake coming out of its old skin. Beautiful orchestration, tortured and haunting vocals and melodies, and lyrics that beat all others (even from alice) combine to make the best Alice cooper album. yours indefinitely." Review by Glitorina from San Jose, California, U.S.A.

Various CDs Reviews:
"Alice Cooper, you have been accused of mass mental cruelty... What do you plead? Guilty!!! Hi you, these are the first words I've heard on an Alice Cooper record. I had bought it thanks to the supremely ugly cover of Raise your fist and Yell. Now, with some years to look at it, this album was not that good (except for 'Jail'). Even so, These are my favourite track from each album: Last Temptation: It's me; Hey Stoopid: Might as well be on Mars (fantastic); Trash: Hell is living without you; Raise your fist: Jail; Constrictor (beuh): He's back (at least funny). I don't know the chronology of the other albums, but I have a tenderness for Alice's 'crap years' albums, where the rock music was overcome by the keyboards and the, uh, uh, themes: Special Forces (where I particularly like those 'Squeletons In the Closet' or 'You're a movie' songs, and Dada (from a Salvador Dali painting, Alice's got taste), where I really like the intro with the child's voice, plus the cover of Love. From the first and best periods, I adore Killer (Halo of Flies is incredible), Billion Dollar Babies, Love it To Death (and the West Side Story theme), Welcome to my Nightmare (and Vincent Price on Black Widow). I have never listened that much to Muscle of Love, Zipper Catches Skin, Lace and Whiskey and Pretties for You... When is he gonna tour in Belgium, for devil's sake? Bye" Review by Cedric Gervy from Belgium
"OK, that's right, Love It to Death, Killer, School's Out, Billion Dollar Babies, etc., are will maybe the all-time classics forever by the most of Alice fans. Yes, the I'm Eighteen, Under My Wheels, No More Mr. Nice Guy, Desperado, Hello Hooray, Elected and a long etc. classics will remains in our minds like a hymns of an era, a great era! I love these albums, I really love these songs too!!... but I can't understand why the Pretties for You and, specially, Easy Action albums still remains like a damned albums. These albums are the reflect of the first Alice legend era, the Los Angeles era. In 1969, between the flowers of San Francisco, the heroin-art of New York and the lunar trips of London, Alice, with songs like Sing Long Sweet Cheerio, Living, Reflected (the Elected's mum), Mr. & Misdemeanor, Shoe Salesman, Below Your Means, Laughing At Me or Beautiful Flyaway, start his legend, he create a cocktail-monster with pieces of Beatles, Pretty Things, Led Zeppelin and Frank Zappa mixed on a terrorific lysergic liquid and bloody bizarre spices. And the monster was born on a L.A stages in a legendary extravanganzas. After these shows and these songs, will born marvelous songs like Ballad of Dwight Fry (...or Fritz, the Dr. Frankenstein assistance of the 1931's classic movie, remember?), Dead Babies, Halo of Flies, Mary Ann or Alma Mater who debt much of the damned period. I recommend to all fans a new listening of these albums with the eyes puts on an imaginary remembers, on a never-seen shows and, perhaps, some of you will understand a very special Alice Cooper precursor and father of many experimental bands. The rest, you know...is history. Please, give another chance to your old albums because you have a hided treasure!!! I don't lie." Review by Dan Kirchner from Barcelona, Spain
"For anyone to say Poison, Raise Your Fist and Yell, or Constrictor even vaugely measured up to classic Alice is totally strange. Da-Da, Special Forces, and Flush the Fashion were wonderful segues into the more Dali side of Alice, and Zipper Catches Skin is just plain hilarious. And you know, i can sing along to every song on every Alice album, except for the first three menitoned above, because those three sound like Van Halen or something. BLECK! The Last Temptation, whether a confession of xian values or whatever, is at least the closest to the old Alice in a long time. I must say, he is my favorite artist of all time. And the comic books that came with The Last Temptation were wonderful. More power to you, Mr. Cooper..." Review by Tabaqui from ???

"Hi everyone! I bet many Cooper fans have read Michael Bruce's book No more Mr Niceguy. It's a great book but it made me angry for it seems that Alice himself never really wrote the classic Cooper hits of the seventies, just wrote some lyrics for them. In a way I consider this stealing: for example No more Mr Nice Guy was by all means written by Michael Bruce but behind the Prime Cuts video Alice's name is mentioned first which should NOT be the case. The same thing with Zodiac Mindwarp/Feed my Frankenstein. Alice only added some lyrics to it and there he has his name as the second co-writer or how do you say it. I think Michael Bruce's book contains some very interesting information. Thank you Michael - you're a legend!" - Comments by Vainen from ???

"Hello, Here's a photo that I took recently...I thought you might find it interesting for your website. It's the actual guy the Coopers' dedicated the song too! Feel free to use it if you want." - Comments and photo by Anthony from ???

"Most people seem to forget that Alice Cooper is a band, not just a singer. The original Alice Cooper group was a cohesive unit of five band members. After "Muscle of Love", when the band broke up, Al just started making solo albums. These albums, by the way, all suck, with the exception of the marvellous "Welcome to my nightmare". I wish more people would recognize the band Alice Cooper - a band where Alice himself wasn't even the main songwriter! It was guitarist/keyboardist Mike Bruce! Can't we have some talk or pictures of Mike, Glen, Denny, and Neil? They are an important part of the Alice Cooper history and deserve to be mentioned more than they are. The only good albums are the ones from the band Alice Cooper anyway. One last thing -- In the Welcome to my Nightmare video with Dick Wagner and Steve Hunter on Guitars, who is who? Is Dick Wagner the one with darker hair and no glasses, or is he the one with blond hair and glasses?..." - Comments by Colin from ???

"...Bin an Alice Cooper fan since 1970 & still am!" - Comments by Darren Priske from Saanichton, British Columbia, Canada

"This is the first web site that I have seen that mentions anything about AC's finding religion. Is this another "Urban Legend", (Like the Alligators the size of a VW living in the N.Y. City sewer system)? Can this be some hoax hyped by the "born againers" to try to gain a following, ("Your Parents listened to Alice Cooper and he was a Satanist. He found the Way. It might be too late for your parents, but you can be saved.") Coop's "Satanism" was part of the "born againers" attempt to quash him, early in his carrer, hence another "urban lengend" is born. What was once fantasy, now is fact. Personally, I could care less. In my 43 years, AC was the best. If you bought a ticket to a Alice Cooper Show, Alice gave you a show. My mom saw him on a daytime talk show in the early 70's (Mike Douglas?), and that was the first rock star that she accepted as being a real person instead of a "drugged out, stinkin' hippie. Although to this day, I still don't think that she believes me that the pair of womens disposable underwear she found under the bed came with the Killer LP. It has been a while since I attended a Alice Cooper show. I hope he has one more tour in him. If he is within a days drive, I'm there. My 11 year old son and 6 year old daughter have seen some good shows, but they have yet to see the Master at work. Before they get all caught up in the here today, make a million bucks fast and leave tommrow artist, they need to know what a showman is." - Comments by Dave from California, U.S.A.

"I'm still a fan off Alice Cooper for more than 25 years." - Comments by Monique from Netherland

"hello there Coop fans: i have been listening and seeing Alice for 28 years now!! and not once did he ever let me down!! he has tried different styles, and images, but he always seemed to do one thing every change he made! (please his fans) noon else i can think of tried so hard to please the people that help make up any performer!! most musicians just go out and do the motions!! they don't care if you like the way it sounds, or if it sounds like the album anyway!! Alice always busts his butt to make people leave his show as tired as he is!! it is easy to have a great light show or laser effects, but seeing an entertainer go that extra mile for US, is realing something that is distant in music today!! or the industry in that matter!!! Alice has always had a religious backround, with mentions of his beliefs in just about every one of his albums!! the man is human!! he never complained about his image! he never blamed his problems on his image! he was only Alice on stage, and never let it go to his head!! you never read about him overdosing or hitting his wife, or putting down his fans! he admitted he was his problem, and he took care of it!! he always respected his fans, and appreciated where he was from having fans all over the world!! and i can sleep good at night knowing that somewhere there is a proud man busting his butt to please his fans!! Alice, you are the man!! keep up the great work!! i'm proud to be soulmates with you!!! and when the Rock, Hall of Fame realizes that they should have inducted you "years ago" they will not only have a rock heroin!, but they will see that they have one of the real true legends of life, and respectable entertainers ever!!! Alice is the greatest Rock legend ever!! and we still have him around to thank!! and he still thanks us, somewhere in the world there is man working hard to please his fans!! that man is ALICE_COOPER!!! from a veteren fan:" - Comments by Paul Tomczak from Philadelphia, PA., U.S.A.

"I think it's great that Alice Cooper has converted to Christianity! He will have a big influence on young people and Older people as well. I have to say that I'm proud of him for taking a stand for Jesus and proclaiming the gospel! It's AWESOME! Alice, blessings to you my brother! From an old fan of "Be my Frankenstein" and "Poison". I'm glad those days are behind us. See ya in heaven Bro!... P.S. We love you man!" - Comments by Holisoljer from ???

"I don't know what all this religeous crap has to do with Alice Cooper (Super Star)!!! I have been an Alice Freak since 1974, that's almost 24 years now. I have stuck it out with Alice through strange concept albums and albums that rocked my world. Whether Alice is a Christian, Jew, Mormon, or Hare Krishna makes no difference to me. Alice never took himself litterally, he was using satire to get people to think!!! Whatever the gossip throughout the generations, I know that Alice is one hell of a performer!!! His latest album, A Fistful of Alice shows that the coop still has it, and as long as he stays true to his Rock and Roll roots, he can replace Jerry Falwell in his spare time if he wishes." - Comments by Craig from ???

"I was a naive 8th grade boy way back in '71 when i first heard of Alice Cooper. What is he, man or woman we asked. We didn't have our MTV, just our trusty Circus magazines. They were in town (San Antonio) on the Killer tour and i didn't get a chance to go see them. After that i became a huge fan, i couldn't get enough of this brand of rock. After hearing dennis dunnaway i had to play bass, which i later did. school's out drove them over the top and i think they blew their artistic wad on that effort. i had yet to see them but as the reviews read, that was the concert to see. i missed that show also. billion dollar babies was a big hype for i think the show was bigger than the tunes on the album. muscle of love was the equivelant of abbey road for the band, as they broke up afterwards. i collected all six of the band's albums (pretties for you, easy action, etc...) and thought the best was love it to death with killer a close second. anything after muscle of love is not the same for the simple fact that the original concept no longer existed. alice the character progressed without the vehicle that drove him there. i never saw alice cooper live in concert, but to see him now would be akin to seeing the beatles without john." - Comments by Mike from San Antonio, Texas, U.S.A.

"Hola soy Carmen y Cia y mandamos un saludo a Alice Cooper, nos gusta bastante y queremos que vemga a Espana, concretamente a Madrid., que es donde vivimos,- Pedro y Juan estuvieron viendote en el Doctor Music Festival, yo no pude. "My name is Kal Smith I am a relative of Alice Cooper... The last time I saw him was 1964 in a little town called Glennmary TN. I was at our uncle and aunts house on a sunday. Vincent and I played along the river and on the bridge near thier house. We had a real fine time, he was older than me and I thought he was very cool... All I know is he lives in Arizona some where. That is all our aunt Doradean could tell me." - Comments by Kal Smith from ???

"My favotite album - Killer. Why? The fold out calendar was ripped off the wall by my dad!!!...Most played song of Alice's works (that is with a guitar in my hands not an album)--- Eighteen- - - mom and dad make me drink whiskey all night long--- followed by The Ballad of Fritz (or was that Mr. Frye???) and then Desperado---I just love the melody. When I was in eighth grade I had drawn the School's Out logo in the center of my binder with the lettering from Welcome to my Nighrmare on top and bottom (the lettering being ALICE COOPER SEE YA, AND DON'T FORGET THE COOP." - Comments by ??? from ???

"Hi, my name is Kevin and I own a record store in Salt Lake City. Last year my wife and 2 kids traveled to Las Vegas to see Alice Cooper. I presented Him with an award after the show: The Heavy Metal Shop Living Legend Award, I had it made at a trophy shop, it turned out great. At the bottom I had the first verse of "Go To Hell" engraved. This is the first and only award of this kind. Besides the one Alice Gave to George Burns in 1973. It was a real honor and a big thrill. Alice definitely is the Coolest!!!!!!!" - Comments by Kevin from Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S.A.

"Message for Alice: Thought I would say Good luck on the tour, would be honored to help with some financial advice as you might know I have helped a few bands out (Rolling Stones, & U2). I my self could use some help. Tell Sammy Hagar to get in touch with me soon, before he starts his tour; its to his benefit finacialy- but I understand that he's already a wealthy man, and well, he can afford not to make millions from my advice..." - Comments by Jeffery P Cummings from ???

"I can't understand some of the opinions within many of the contributions to your Alice web site. I have owned just about every Alice album since before he released trash and the band wagon began to roll. I have seen him perform live on many occasions. The unfortunate impression that I get from your pages is that so called fans fail to recognise what I would consider to be his greatest work. I am referring to `from the inside', `flush the fashion', special forces, zipper catches skin and the album of slight mention, `da da'. However, this clearly explains to me why the contents of his post 1988 set lists have been predictable. Do we really need to see Alice waste the time of his more dedicated fans with endless versions of `schools out'? Especially when he has enough great obsure songs gathering dust such as `former lee warmer', `asprin damage', and `black ju ju'? My brother has been having therapy to control his post 1988 Alice and I have been paying the medical bills. they don't come cheap let me tell you. However, just when he has really started to get himself together (he was coming on a bundle), Alice enters religion. what the *!#k is going on. I realise that the contents of this email will go over the average 1997 Alice fans head, but now they know how I have felt with drab offerings such as `hey stoopid' and `the last straw (sorry temptation). `How many said I wonder what happened to Alice?' Did Alice have a psychic lyric back in 76? If anybody can offer me valid explanations on any of my `fryups' then please contact me..." - Comments by Jackdaw Grout from Litherland, Liverpool, England

"...The only Alice albums that count are the ones with the original group. [Excluding "PRETTIES" & EASY ACTION, which were too primitive...also " Muscle of Love" [only decent song is the title song]..." - Comments by Joe Bates from Austin, Texas, U.S.A.

"I'm the general manager of a midwest christian radio station. We currently have Alice'C "Cleansed By Fire" in our music rotaion. I would really like to get some more information about Mr Cooper and his conversion. I sometimes am bothered by some peoples response to his conversion and then i'm reminded of my own. All things are possible through christ who strengthens us. I just hope that people don't try to make alice "perform" like so many christians do of recent converts." - Comments by Mike Myers (KFGQ AM & FM) from Boone, Iowa, U.S.A.

"After reading this "Jean from Ontario" unpleasant comments about Alice's direction and her fued with his assistant Renfield, I was deeply pissed off...only a true fan would have respect and accept their favorite artists career decisions and direction with postive feed back...not everything an artist does is going to be brilliant. One must take the good as well as the bad in stride..as for Jeans fued With Renfield??? That guy ipitomizes what a true and devoted fan real is...he is the dean of Alice Cooper fans and collectors..and on top of that he is pretty easy going guy. So its hard to believe that any problems between Jean and Brian are Brians fault...I would suggest Jean to associate herself with another artist...maybe some 90s copycat like Marlyn Manson or Trent Reznor..other Cooper devotees would frown upon some one like Jean... she is an out cast to Cooper circle of fans and an *ssh*l*..." - Comments by Andy from ???

"I have been a fan of Alice's since 1989, when "Poison" was released. At the time, I was in the sixth grade, and my parents found it odd that I was interested in an icon of the 70's. Since then, my collection has increased dramatically. Thanks to Renfield and his auctions, I now own one of the 50 leather "Trash" UK Tour road-crew jackets, which is the pride and joy of my collection. My main focus, aside from any and every album of Alice's, is on obtaining high-quality video archival footage that chronicles Alice's career." - Comments by Brett Cooper from Wasilla, Alaska, U.S.A.

"I've been an Alice Cooper fan for 20 yrs, but unfortunately I've never been able to see him live (hopefully that will change this summer). I've noticed quite a few adverse reaction to his conversion to Christianity, and as a survivor of a Bible Belt (SOUTHERN BAPTIST at that) upbringing, I must say that I don't get it. Are these people that insecure? It's not a threat. Alice has had one hell of a life, and if he's found something that gives him peace of mind, then good for him. If you don't want to hear him talk about it, don't listen, don't buy the new CD, stick to the old classics and LEAVE HIM THE HELL ALONE! I'm not a Bible thumper, just someone who believes in "live and let let live". To paraphrase my favorite flick, "they'd be whole lot less fuss and bother if more people'd take that to heart"..." - Comments by ??? from ???

"I have been going to Alice Cooper shows since 1978. Truly this is one of the 70's better performers. Here it is almost the year 2000 and he still has a large following, not just of the old material, but the new. I was not in the know about his coming out, is there anyway I could have more information about this. I live in St. Louis and we do not see him as much as other parts of the country. The "Hey Stoopid" tour did not even stop here. We did get an abbreviated concert at a local record store where he was supposed to do a video, however electrical storms prevented this from happening, since the video was to be shot on top of the roof. It was an excellent performance of 4-5 songs..." - Comments by Monica from St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.A.

"I saw Alice Cooper during Ted Nugent's Whiplash Bash Tour 96-97 Personally I think Alice SUCKED!!! I was extremely upset with his performance!!! NO props NO talent is a good sum up!!! What happened to Alice's guts, I believe in God and all that but this ia sickening!! Well he's getting old? B*llsh*t!!!! Nugents the same age as him and Ted Kicked major ass as always!!! I was extermely dissapointed, Alice is (was) one of my favorites along with Nuge, and Johnny Rotten!!! ATTITUDE!!! obviously something DA COOP is familiar with anymore!! Too much GOLF AND RELIGION!!! GET YER BALLS BACK OR F*CK*N' GOOD RIDDANCE ALICE!!!!" - Comments by Jimi Menace from ???

"...I used to be the biggest Cooper fan ever in WV but i got saved and became a Christian. I of course gave up all of my Alice music and began a new lifestyle. The last year I heard rumors that Alice became a Christian also recently and I e-mailed several Alice web pages and never once received a response. I got off the Internet and just recently got back on and thought I'd give it another whirl and this is the first page I tried...Will he still keep his name? (You know keeping a name of a devil-worshipping witch that he got off a Ouji board doesn't look good). He will play great music no matter what route he takes. I read where a guy in your comments said he's not going to hear about bible study. Well people for years never wanted to see baby doll heads being ripped off and Alice being decapitated either but he still was a sucess! He can suceed with religous music too but trying to mix the old evil Alice into a pulpit may give him trouble from both sides. People wanting the old Alice doesn't want to hear sermons (like that guy and I'm sure others) and people wanting to hear the new Vince doesn't want to hear "Dead Babies"." - Comments by ??? from West Virginia, U.S.A.

"Responding to the recent criticism toward Coopers performance and creativity: I think Cooper has improved and matured with age and Christianity has not hurt the man but has helped him. His last studio release "The Last Temptation" was in the tradition of WTMN and FTI. Cooper's voice and performance is better than ever. For those who think hes not shocking enough, its all been done before (Manson is not the first). The "true Shock rocker" Alice is a believer in Christ instead of being just another artist making money off of Satanic propaganda (don't take much brains to do that).. Theres a big difference between good Horror and Sci-fi and just bad depressing lyrics." - Comments by Richard Kid from ???

"THIS IS TO ALL YOU MOAN & GROANERS. You can NEVER question an artist. It is ones interpretation of their own veiw. If you don't like ones view, don't listen to them. Who says you are right. If Alice wants to talk about GOD he has every right. There is always going to be 2 sides of the coin. When people mocked him of being a satanist-you all stood by him. There was never a problem then! You were never really fans to begin with. You would like him for his CREATION. AND what the hell does age have to do with anything? It can only work for him not agaist. "EXPERIENCE". ALICE I believe knows exactly what he's doing. I see no problem with what he's doing now vs. then. Everyone changes. Look at your life begining till now-are you the same? NO. So why would you expect ALICE not to develope also? Alice is not even preaching on the album. So whats everybodys gripe? Everyone just remember these new bands with make-up, horror/theatrics and so on... - were created by none other ALICE COOPER! (very underrated!) Oh, by the way JEAN from canada - YOU WISH!" - Comments by Lark from Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.

"Alice Cooper has been an important member of the music scene for many years. Much of what he has accomplished is a result of talent, hard work, imagination and finding the right people to work with. From the early days with the original band (who never get their share of the recognition) through many ups and downs Alice has represented that 'who gives a sh*t' attitude which more peoople need. The first time I saw a clip of Alice was on an old documentary produced by the CBC called 'Rock-a-bye.' It was filmed as Alice was about to make a controversial concert appearance in Toronto in the early 70's. Along with some gruesome 'Dead Babies' footage, was a shot of the old group getting off their airplane and trying to get through the airport. They were accosted by what seemed like protesters but turned out to be gays who (it was assumed) thought Alice was gay. The candid shots of Alice and Neal Smith running through the crowd giggling stay with me to this day. They didn't seem to mind or care what was going on. Just as right now Alice certainly doesn't care what anyone has to say about his conversion (actually, this page is the first I've heard about this, but if it's what he wants, good for him). No one minds that Elvis was a Christian, why worry about The Coop. a lot worse things could happen to him.
'I just come back to show you, all my words are golden,
So have no gods before me, I'm the light.'

"I'm 16 and i beleive in satanism. I dunno but i think what it means is exactly what i feel like. I've been an Alice fan for 3 years now. I think he's great but i have to agree with those that don't like his new "pro-christian" attitude. He can be a christian all he wants, and admits it to the world but i'm bugged by his now "obsession" of telling it everytime he can. He still is great and is a legend but young people are starting to lose a lot of interest with him and if he starts trying to tell us about jesus and all that. Let me tell you it won't help his case. Anyways that's what i have to say." - Comments by Helldog from ???

"Hello, darlings. It's me, Necrophilia- Diva of the Dead of the band The Necro Tonz, and I'd like to give you my opinion on some of the things on your page. First and foremost, I must proclaim my undying devotion to the man. In fact, he's sort of the inspiration for The Necro Tonz, and we pay tribute to him by performing our cha-cha version of "I Love the Dead" and a straight-off- "School's Out" rendition of "Blue Turk." After the grunge years and the alternative movement and then punk, we figured it was time to create a new genre-death lounge-and much of the blame can be put on Alice Cooper. We, too, believe in more bang for your entertainment dollar, so we wear make-up and tuxedoes (except for me, of course- I wear the type of gowns I imagine Alice would've if he were a she). When I was a bit younger, I dreamed of having an all-girl band that would play only Cooper covers. So, you can tell I really dig him, and when he comes to Dallas I'm going to try to get him a tape of our stuff. We feel he'd die laughing (and maybe be interested in producing us!!!)...As a long-time fan of the Coop (since '74), I want to say that he has influenced many musicians, from GWAR to Marilyn Manson (who appear to be doing his act from days gone by, just with more machinery and a junky attitude). I hitched from Chappel, Nebraska to see Alice in 1978 in Rapid City, South Dakota, and have since seen him about four times. Face facts, old schoolers- Alice is getting up there in years, and if he decides to profess his religion, who cares? I am not a religious person (maybe spiritual) so I don't think about life in those terms. I don't think of Alice Cooper in those terms either. It might be a different story if we were to meet and he tried to convert me, but until that day comes, I'm still going to be cranking his music up on my turntable. There has been some material he's released that I'm not fond of, so I don't listen to it. Even if I go to the show and leave thinking it was lame, I still have mounds of respect for him and thank him for many fine, twisted memories that turned me into the Diva I am today. Thanx, Al!" - Comments by Necrophilia from Dallas, Texas, U.S.A.

"I can't believe you wasted your time and web space printing the comments from that igit West Virginian(???).....Why do people always have to connect music interest with religion?...Alice is going to do what he wants, and if you don't like it you can lock him up!" - Comments by Gary Knight from ???

Alice Cooper on how people react when they first see him: "People that haven't seen us yet are shocked because they think that Alice Cooper must be a female folksinger. They don't expect the whole thing. And the whole thing is a direct product of television and movies and America, 'cause that's where America's based. That's where their heart is from the sex and violence of TV and the movies, and that was our influence. We weren't brought up under a blues influence. We were brought up under an electronics influence - the bomb (I'm not knocking the bomb, I think the bomb's a gas), but television has been the main influence for this generation, and that's why this whole thing is happening. You just let your lower self go, and then it takes on all these aspects of the society - the city with horns blowing, the people yelling things at each other, and the all in all violence and chaos of the city. Put that on stage with music, and that's what this is."

Alice Cooper or originally Vincent Damon Furnier (pronounced "Fern-yea", like the plant and the cheer, with the stress on the second syllable), is the son of a Methodist minister and was born on February 4, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan. He and his family later moved to Phoenix, Arizona, supposedly because of Vince's asthma problems. That was where Vince met the guys who later became the Alice Cooper Group.

After the Cabo Wabo concert, Alice Cooper went to Texas to start the summer tour. Their equipment and instruments got stuck in Mexico for two days so Alice had to rent equipment to play their first concerts until their own stuff arrived two days later.
