New CD: The guys released their new CD, Eye II Eye, in Germany on March 8, 1999. The first one with the new member James Kottak. The first single was called "To Be Number One" and was released on February 22 in Europe. The Japanese release date was April 21, 1999. The North American release date was June 22, 1999. Also only in Japan can you get a five-track EP called 'When You Came Into My Life'.
New Tribute CD: Cherry Red Records Ltd. has sent me a new tribute CD called "Songs Of Change- Tribute To Scorpions. This CD will be released in a few days on September 11, 2000 at least in the U.K. I have listened to it and have enjoyed it. The various lineups do a real good job of replicating the original songs to a point that if they were played in the background by someone else, you might not realize that it is not the Scorpions playing them. Below is the news release they sent me with the Cd:

"-a fusion of intimidating power-riffs, wailing guitar solos and melodic vocal lines".
A brilliant twelve track tribute to legendary German hard-rock outfit, Scorpions... Tributes on this release come from such luminaries of the rock fraternity as Phil Lewis of L.A. Guns, Jozzy Pearl of Love/Hate, Kelly Hansen of Hurricane and Kevin DuBrow of Quiet Riot amongst others... It is little surprise that fellow musicians were eager to pay tribute to one of the most successful heavy rock acts of all time on this exciting new release on the Anagram label.
Track Listing = 1) Here I Am - Kelly Hansen of Hurricane; 2) Still Lovin' You - Steve Whiteman of Kix; 3) Falling In Love - Marq Torien of Bulletboys; 4) Big City Nights - Kevin DuBrow of Quiet Riot; 5) Blackout - Steve Rochelle of Tuff; 6) No One Like You - Jozzy Pearl of Love/Hate; 7) The Zoo - Joe Leste of Bango Tango; 8) Steamrock Fever - Phil Lewis of L.A, Guns; 9) In Trance - Kory Clarke of Space Age Playboys/Warrior Soul; 10) He's A Woman, She's A Man - John Corabi of Union; 11) Holiday - Paul Shortino of Rough Cutt; 12) Lovedrive - Taime Downe of Newlydeads/Faster Pussycat.

Birthdays: Klaus Meine - May 25

CONCERT REVIEWS:

"I my name is Nuno Filipe from Portugal and i'm a great Scorpions fan...in the summer of 1996 Scorpions visit Portugal and kick the summer with their music... now i must write in Portugal because its my language... escrevo de Portugal para dizer que o concerto que os Scorpions deram no Oporto no festival Imperial ao vivo foi o maximo... quase que era cancelado mas os problemas que afeteram Klaus Meine permitiram-lhe cantar e encantar... as musicas foram: Wind Of Change, Bad Boys R Wild, Still Loving You, Rock You Like A Huricane, Big City Nights, You And I, Dinamite, The Zoo and finaly Hollyday. It was great" Comments from Nuno Filipe from Oporto, Portugal.

"...I have been a Scorpions fan Since I was 12 years old. The first Time I heard In Trance it just blew me away. I've only seen the Scorpions once. That was the Monsters of Rock concert in Buffalo, Ny. (1988) And in my opinion they stole the show. And mind you, Van Halen, Dokken, and Metallica played that day..." Comments from Ben from ???.

"Dear Klaus Meine: April 2nd 1998. Hi! my name is Sandra Alvarado, I'm 18, and i live in M‚xico City,... I like to tell you that i'm in love of your voice (and all of you), please keep on rocking, and write intelligent songs like "under the same sun" or "where the river flows", i recomend you have more contact with your fans. I went to you last concert in M‚xico and i was so fascinating. One more thing, if you are planning to come back to M‚xico try to be carefull and if you have some time you can visit me, i can show you my country... i was waiting to have any contact with you since 4 years ago... with love: Sandy" Comments from Sandy from Mexico.

"Dear Scorpions: First, let me introduce myself, my name is Sandra Alvarado I'm 18, and I live in M‚xico, I'm studing design and publicity (and I"m studing english too, so I beg your pardon for the mistakes). I went to the concert live in Mexico with two friends on november twelveth, 1997. We bought you some roses but the security men didn't let us entrance. Second, I would like to tell you, Klaus, that: I love your voice and really, I'm dying to meet you or have any contant with you 'cause you're a genius and a very intelligent person, I know it. I'm trying to get all your cd's, but I don't have enough money to buy them, I suffered so much to get the tickets for your concert, because I'm not too rich, but finally I did it. Wherever you want, ... I'll always be there if you want to talk with somebody I am your friend." Comments from Sandy from Mexico.

"Wow! I can't believe that one year and 6 months have already passed. I'm talking about the time when the Scorpions came to Toronto, Canada in July 30th, 1996. They were the most intelligent rockers i have ever spoken to. My sister and i met them at Sam The Record Man, got their autographs, took million pictures with'em, and won tickets to the show at the amphitheater. Yes! I'm luckies the girl in Toronto! The one who had the chance to meet her gods, and perform "Wild Child" with 'em on stage. I will never forget that memorable night. Thanx a million to the Scorpions, who will continue to rock, sting and kick some serious ass! There is no one like you." Comments from Maral Bedoyan from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

"...About the concert, the last nov 8 1997 I went to the concert in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon State, Mexico just in the south of Texas. In the "Fundidora Stadium" I can tell that the quality of the sound was great, Scorpions looked so energized and the mexican people had a very good time. I was in the 6 row and I could almost grab a cap that they throwed away... I bougth a "T" shirt, it was 75 pesos (10 dollar). and Scorpions sang for two hours.. very nice concert." Comments from Jose from Mexico.

"Dear Scorpions. I adore you. My name is Ramy Daaboul from Lebanon. I went to your concert at the Beirut Forum. I think it was great, but the sound was not good. We like all your LPs and especially Crazy World. I also like the Edge Of Time. I would like to know why you always change the song when you make a filmclip. I hope you'll get back to Lebanon.
P.S: I've got all your albums..." Comments from Ramy from Lebanon.

"Hi, Here are some of the pictures of the last Scorpions show in Sao Paulo, Brazil (November 15, 1997), in Skoll Rock, with Dio, Bruce Dickinson and Jason Bonham. Enjoy it!" Comments and photos below from Erick from Brazil.

"I love the Scorpions and am lost with what has happened to them. My name is Royston and i live in England, the last time i seen them was at the NEC in Birmingham on their Savage Amusement tour? Please please please can someone e-mail me to let me know what has happen and to have friends with the same interest in the Scorpions as myself?? E-mail soon, waiting in anticipation, Royston" Comments from Royston from Birmingham, England.

"Hi!! Gord here. I was at the 1996 concert in Toronto and was fortunate enough to win a contest and appear on stage with the Scorpions during the concert. I had a fantastic time and am now looking for any footage that might be out there of this concert. If you have any info I would really appreciate it...hope to here from you" Comments from Gord from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

News from a Spanish Fan, November 13, 1996: "My name is Oscar and I write you in order to make you know that the spanish tour of Scorpions have been canceled because of the Schenker's problems. Tolouse concert had been canceled. He is in a french Hospital. If the play in Madrid, and if you want I will report you the concert. I am looking for a Scorpions song titled She's knocking at my door that is in the Wild Child single I think, and I would like you to send me E-Mail of people who like the Scorpions music." News from Oscar in Madrid, Spain. Click e-mail above to contact Oscar.

No he vuelto a ver ningu'n otro anuncio del concierto. Comments from Juan A. Rubio from Valladolid, Spain.

"...I've been a fan of the band since the Black Out tour. Seen them every time they came to town ever since..." Comments from Mike MacEachern from Canada.

"...I saw the Scorpions in El Paso, Texas on June 5, 1996 at the Special Events Center when they STARTED their Pure Instinct tour. The reason they started in El Paso is because El Paso has the hardest core following of Scorpions fans on Earth. The concert was recorded and played over dozens of radio stations nationwide a couple of weeks later. While their performance was a bit rough (first day of a tour mind you) it was a treat for the senses. My favorite Scorpions album is Lovedrive and I've seen them in El Paso 7 times since 1980..."Comments from Stefan from El Paso, Texas, U.S.A.

Animal Magnetism CD Reviews:
"The first Scorps recording to hit gold displays a tremendous amount of effort. While everyone knows The Zoo, Make It Real and Hold Me Tight are also quite good." Review by Barry from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

"Lovedrive and Animal Magnetism: Both are very good and I classify them together. Consistently good songs." Review by ??? from ???

Best Of Rockers 'N' Ballads CD Review: "Their 80's hits album is, of course, a must if you don't already have most of the albums containing those hits. The two previously unrealeased songs are I Can't Explain and Hey You, which is sung by Rudolf. I Can't Explain is ok, but Hey You is pretty bad." Review by Barry from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

Blackout CD Reviews:
"Another Scorps classic!! Well Done!!" Review by Greg Geis from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

"DYNAMITE and NO ONE LIKE YOU are the highlights in this awesome album." Review by Barry from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

"This is a great recording with all the tracks being hard driving rock songs. My favourites would be: Blackout, Can't Live Without You and No One Like You. The other tracks are: You Give Me All I Need, Now!, Dynamite, Arizona, China White and When The Smoke Is Going Down." Review by :-)Omega(-: from Toronto, Canada

"Great album. It is their heaviest, along with awesome songs (sorry Weber, but Face the Heat doesn't even come close). "China White" and other tracks almost intimidate the listener, they are so powerful. The Scorpions' recent releases can't hold a candle to these monster tracks. The songs back then were mainly about partying and getting drunk, instead of their current topics of saving the world. Maybe they should cut loose and let it rip again." Review by ??? from ???

Crazy World CD Reviews:
"Nothing like 80's Scorps we knew but gotta love it! Lyrics are well done on Wind Of Change and Send Me Angel." Review by Greg Geis from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

"Different from the 80's albums, but still one of the BEST studio albums." Review by Barry from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

"I consider this their last good album, especially the first half of the record." Review by ??? from ???

Deadly Sting - The Mercury Years CD Reviews:
"...this 1997 released 2 CD album is just great!! it has all the hits we have liked and the new digital remastered recording exceed all quality expectations. It has two CD's with 33 songs, the first one has all the hits we like from the 80's, and the second has the 90's hits that new generation just listened!! for the one who like scorpions and has lost their music, it is a jewel to have this track. By the way, I am looking forward to the concert happening this Nov 8 in Monterrey, Mexico, so I will let you know how was it!! Best Regards, Pepe" Review by Pepe from Monterrey Nuevo Leon, Mexico

Face The Heat CD Reviews:
"Due to Bruce Fairbairn, Scorps give meaning to the words 'No Pain, No Gain'." Review by Greg Geis from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

"Bruce Fairbairn, who produced bestselling albums for AC/DC and Aerosmith, was brought in the produce Face The Heat, which is by far the Scorpions' heaviest album to date. Only two songs on the entire 11-track album are ballads, the rest being heavy metal that would fit into Metallica's genre. Sales for this album only went gold because many people were turned off by this type of music, but it is still a great album. The ballads, "Under The Same Sun" and "Lonely Nights", are very good, with hard-rocking songs "Alien Nation", "No Pain No Gain" and "Woman" to back them up. However, many of the songs prove to be just loud noise with a quality less than we would expect from the Scorps." Review by Barry from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

"Besides "Woman" (outstanding song) this album is practically worthless. They do rock, but the songs seem so predictable and don't do anything for me. I hate to slam the Scorps on these records, but their stellar work in earlier years set a certain standard, one they have not met recently in my opinion." Review by ??? from ???

"All the albums are good except for Face the Heat '93. It sucked, I got my money back for it." Review by ??? from ???

Hot & Heavy (1993) CD Review: "This recording contains some great rock songs like: He's A Woman - She's A Man, Speedy's Coming, Dark Lady, Steamrock Fever and Polar Nights. Other songs on this recording are: Catch Your Train, Far Away, The Riot Of Our Time, Robot Man and I've Got To Be Free." Review by :-)Omega(-: from Toronto, Canada

In Trance CD Review:
"My favourite Scorpions Song - In Trance. I think it really feels brilliant, when in the right mood. But the album itself is not very good...I can't believe, most people like Wind of Change." Review by Anvar from United Kingdom

"The best of the Roth albums, mainly because he doesn't sing much on this one." Review by Barry from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

Live Bites (1988-1995) CD Review:
"I picked up a copy of "Live Bites" right for Christmas in 1997, and it rocked! The eleven live tracks sounded beautiful, especially for someone like me who can't seem to get a copy of the original RCA albums from the Scorpions. In Trance sounds really good, and Edge Of Time is the greatest song I've heard since Alien Nation. Here's to The Scorpions. After over 25 years, they haven't given way to trends, they've set them! Here's to the next 25 years. The one downside is that I was given an offer to get some info and merchandise (which I'd love to get) about the Scorpions and it didn't work out because it expired two years ago. :*( " Review by Steve from ???

"A good compilation of 88-95 concerts!! Extra bonus tracks are also well done!" Review by Greg Geis from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

"They should have waited a little longer to have more live tracks, but still it is a good live album." Review by Barry from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

Lonesome Crow Reviews:
"This DOES NOT sound like the fun Scorps stuff we know and love. Only seven tracks are on this album and all the songs are depressing. Klaus' voice sounds much deeper, and Michael Schenker is obviously the highlight of the album. You might want to get this if it's less than $10, but otherwise, don't waste your money." Review by Barry from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

"...Any person who enjoys Scorpions fully should give this a chance. It is an extremely interesting look at a young group called "Scorpions". Michael Schenker was only 14 or 15 when he played on this album!!! This is not a "typical" Scorpions sound as we have become familiar with in the eighties. Instead, it is a very instrumental album showcasing the extreme talents of the Schenker brothers and Klaus Meine. It is incredible to hear Klaus in an early stage of his vocal development. This album showcases the influnces that were pushing the Scorpions along every inch of the album. Groups such as Cream, Black Sabbath, Led-Zeppelin can be heard in the songs lenghty arangements. Don't expect songs with a slick production or easy sing along chorus. This album has a very "dark" feel to it. Put it on in the months of October and November. This album sounds perfect during Halloween weather. With a cool breeze and changing leaves, "Lonesome Crow" brings atmosphere back into music. So, if you get a chance please give "Lonesome Crow" a listen. It is an extremely interesting view into a group that would change the sound of music as we know it." Review by Paul Figg from Memphis, Tennesee, U.S.A.

"...Anyway, I don't know who this Barry twerp is, but he should pull his head from out of his ass before commenting on music. I agree with him that "In Trance" is the Scorpions best record and that "Lonesome Crow" was pretty much a vehicle for Michael Schenker. But by no means is it a bad record, to be avoided or only picked up in the discount section. "Lonesome Crow" is a wonderfly dark & moody masterpiece. That should show the listener, how versatile the Scorpions are or were. I agree that many fans that love the commercial "fun" love me like a Hurricane sh*t, might not like the first record. But for those that enjoyed albums 2, 3 & 4, #1 is well worth listening to..." Review by Denise from ???, U.S.A.

Pure Instinct CD Reviews:
"my name is linhoe from singapore, i have been following the scorpions since 1980. It was great to know that there was such a great band in this world. I hope that the group can come to singapore again for another concert because i miss it last time they were here. As for the the "pure instinct" album, it was a bit dissapointed as compare to their past albums they had produced." Review by Linhoe from Singapore

"The Scorps take a melodious approach at rock and scores!!" Review by Greg Geis from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

"There are two ways to look at this album. While many fans might be dissapointed with the lack of hard rock we would expect, some of the Scorpions' best ballads ever haunt this album. After getting the listener's attention with "Wild Child" and "But the Best For You", Pure Instinct gives us a chance to mellow out with such great songs as "Does Anyone Know", "Soul Behined The Face" and "When You Came Into My Life". Although some might find it boring, the album speaks with the true feelings the Scorps haven't expressed for many years. While they might lose some headbangin' fans, they certainly haven't decreased my interest." Review by Barry from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

"Hi, I'm Spanish guy. Now I'm 25 old but I listen Scorpions since I was a child (since my sister sang Rock you like a hurricane). I tried to buy all MC,LP or CD that I could, from the oldests to the newests and my opinion is that Pure Instinct is the better album no hard of Scorpions. I think the songs are personal and I really connect with the CD soul." Review by Juan A. Rubio from Valladolid, Spain

"...I like the new album fairly well. I just have to be in one of those moods to listen to Scorpions ballads, just like I have to be in the mood to listen to Metallica or Fleetwood Mac (both of which I like very much!!)..." Review by Stefan from El Paso, Texas, U.S.A.

"Pure Instinct Sucks! I am a huge Scorpions fan. I have seen them in concert 9 times or so...but I was very disappointed with this rotten CD. Yes, it has all the trademark Scorps sounds, but none of it holds together. Where's the magic? Not on this album. I found Face The Heat very exciting because the rocked harder than ever before, with the possible exceptin of Blackout, and even added a 90s edge to it. They made a good step forward. But that's all gone now with this wimpy addition to their catalogue. Hopefully this year's album with new band member Kottaka will rock again." Review by Benjamin from ???

"Absolutely a downer. I never play this CD, it just gathers dust. What the hell happened to the Scorps? None of these songs would have made it onto their albums in the late 70's or 80's. I don't hate it because its mellow, even the "heavy" songs flat-out suck. It is so cheesy and generic. I don't realize why they are all screaming on the CD insert photo...although I do to whenever I hear it; only I scream in agony." Review by ??? from ???

Savage Amusement CD Reviews:
"While the only real hit off of it was Rythem Of Love, I really like this album. Don't Stop At The Top is the best song on the album, and Media Overkill and When Passion Rules The Game aren't too bad either. Only problem: The Scorps seem to have tried too hard to make this their best album." Review by Barry from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

"Good songs, but a bit too "produced". Why isn't "Every Minute, Every Day" on any greatest hits records? It might be the best song here. "Don't Stop..." and "Rhythm" are also very good. They started their habit of too many ballads on this one." Review by ??? from ???

The Best Of Scorpions, Vol. 2 (1984) CD Review: "My favourite track on this recording is a live version of Speedy's Coming. The other tracks are: Top Of The Bill, They Need A Million, Longing For Fire, Catch Your Train, Crying Days, All Night Long (live), This Is My Song, Sun In My Hand and We'll Burn The Sky (live)." Tokyo Tapes Reviews:
"Not bad, but doesn't sound as great as the studio versions." Review by Barry from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A.

"...I also disagree with Mr. Weber (I doubt he's a day over twelve) about the "Tokyo Tapes" album. Many of the live tracks are better than the studio versions. (Hound Dog/Long tall Sally were pathetic) This album should show the listener that they are able to duplicate what was done in the studio and rock pretty damn hard while doing it..." "I just read Matthias Jabs comments in the Classic Rock magazine, where he stated that the Scorps are a band for the 90s and would like to be lumped in with the likes of the Stones & Aerosmith instead of ancient bands like Uriah Heep! I gotta say - cheap shot Matthias! First, I'm a big Heep fan, and frankly you couldn't carry Mick Box's guitar case! Have you heard Heep's last 3 albums? Far superior the Scorps crap of the last 15 years! Matthias comments show little class, and sheer ignorance! I don't are much for the Stones or Aerosmith either but i sure as hell wouldn't put Scorpions in the same class. I saw the Scorpions in TO in 96 w/ Alice Cooper, and being an AC fan. I thought the Scorpions were just awful, and so did the 2 other major paper reviewers who sat near me, and also left because they couldn't stomach the band's entire set! Both also agreed that the Scorpions didn't measure up to AC and didn't belong on the same stage! You're a joke Matti! If you can't say anything intelligent about the forerunners of the HR movement such as Heep - then shut-up!! You guys may appeal to 15-20 year olds, and all the girls that like your repetitive cheap ballads, but any classic rock fan with half a brian won't put you in the same class as Heep, Purple, Sabbath and others! Of course, you just ain't much of a replacement to Michael Schenker or Uli Roth! Taken By Force - now there's a great Scorps Lp!! "You're not the only one amongst the saints and sinners. There are those that we can see, and those no longer with us." (UH 98)" Comments by KJJ from Toronto, Ontario, Canada

"I'm looking for a version of "Wind of change", the scorpions sang in Moscow by using russian words in a part of the song. Can you help me?" Comments by Berry from ???
(-:Omega:-)
They have a CD called "Wind of Change" which is an import from Japan on the Mercury Label. It has 8 tracks. Track one is the normal version of "Wind Of Change" and track 8 is the Russian version of the song.

"I have been a Scorpions fan since 1974 when I lived in Augsburg Germany. I have enjoyed every album intensly Though I am missing a couple of newer ones I would really appreciate if someone would Email me and let me know if they ever intend to play in the state of North Carolina particularly at Walnut Creek Ampitheatre in Raleigh... And also is there a way to send them something they would personaly recieve directly?" Comments by Rhonda from Raleigh, North Carolina, U.S.A.
(-:Omega:-)
Keep watching the tour schedule at the top of this page and hopefully they will come to Raleigh or at least close by. You can not send them anything directly but you can have their record company forward something for you. The address is at the top of the page.

"Hello, My name is Tony Mader and I was wondering if you possibly had any information for me... I'm taking a class at Willamette University in Salem Oregon entitled politics in popular culture. Being a long time Scorps fan, I want to write a paper about how the Scorps had a political message in their music and possibly shaped politics in their time. If you have any information: publications, songs I should take a look at, or anything that would help me out I would appreciate an email. Thanks" Comments by Tony Mader from Salem Oregon, U.S.A.
(-:Omega:-)
I have never taken their music as politically derived except for Wind of Change about the dissolving of the iron curtain or wall. This does not mean that I am right and that you are wrong. If you get a political message from their music then there might be something there that I have overlooked or never grasped since I do tend to concentrate on Schenker(s), Jabs and Roths guitar work instead of the lyrics. The only thing I can suggest for your paper is to read their lyrics which some appear further down this page in the Audio section and maybe read some old reviews especially by Klaus Meine in magazines which you can find in used magazine stores. I would love to read your paper and even place it on the web page when you complete it.

"Hello! I have a huge important question for you! My friend and I have a huge debate going on, can you help me settle it? Which Scorpions music video was filmed in Lebanon in 1996? Was it the video for "When You Came Into My Life?" My friend says it's another version of "You and I" I say it's definitely not. Who is right? If you don't know which music video it is, it's the one that has horses running on a beach, and also shows some destroyed buildings.. Please help me out! If anyone knows this, it has to be you! Let me know where I can find the info to prove it to my friend! I look forward to hearing from you in the very near future! Thanks! Take care," Comments by Chrisper from ???

I have not seen that video so sorry that I can not help you.

"Hey there,... I was wondering if you could help me! Tonight I was in the other room when my wife was watching TV, when I heard the Scorpions start coming out of the TV. I went in to see what in the world she would be watching about the Scorpions. When I went in to see what she was watching, much to my surprise it was figure skating! The couple was skating to the Scorpions of all things. I don't own a whole lot of their albums, but I love them. But, I didn't recognize this song. It was a rock ballad, as many of their songs are, and it was awesome. All I remember about the song was that at some point during the chorus he sang "Take my breath away". I know that's extremely vague, but do you have any idea what song that might be? I hope you do, because I want to go right out and buy whatever album it's on! Thanks in advance for any help!" Comments by Brett Martin from Texas, U.S.A.
(-:Omega:-)
Their song Arizona has the phrase "Took My Breath Away" in it. You can find that song on their Blackout CD.

"hi, i'm a new fan from Scorpions... My first contact with them was 4 months ago, when i listened "Wind of Change'... Farewell.." Comments by Viniciua Diniz Vizzotto from Cachoeira do Sul city, Brazil

"Hello, My name is James and the Scorps are the bomb the only problem is that I am having troubles finding more albums or cd sites that you don't need a credit card to order. I have 10 albums and i wish to have more..." Comments by James Weimar from ???
(-:Omega:-)
If you have a credit card and the problem is you do not trust entering it on a web page and sending it over the Internet, I sympathize with you as I have the same hesitation. In this case, major CD sites will have a toll free number that you can give them a call and give them your card number. After that you never have to enter you card number on the web page when ordering a CD. If the problem is that you do not have a credit card then you can order from music club sites like BMG, Columbia and CDHQ and mail in the payment by cheque after receiving the CD's. Other smaller sites if you ask will let you send a cheque for the amount of the order and once they receive it they will send out the order. This last one is riskier, so make sure you feel you trust the person at the other end and/or make your first order for only one CD just in case they try to rip you off.

"hey listen here peeps! Scorpions are at their best from 1971 to 1988! After that they are just ...#boring# Uli jon roth rules!!!" Comments by Elchemist from Singapore

"Do you know what album the song Rubber Fucker is on, and how to get it? I have heard that there is an album called Under The Same Sun with 3 songs on it: Alienation, Under The Same Sun, Rubber Fucker. Any ideas? Thanks!" Comments by Ratt from ???
(-:Omega:-)
There are two CD's that I know of that contain it. At left is the one you mentioned, Under The Same Sun, and the other is called White Dove and you can see a graphic of the cover further down this page in the Graphics section. They are so called single CD's. I have no idea where you can get them as I know of them but have never seen them myself.

"Dear Scorp fans, The Scorpions are one of the best bands alive (and dead). I'm 48 and my wife is 43 years of age and we've seen many bands come and go but the Scorpions are ageless and they give me my youth back to me - lyrics are the best." Comments by Gordon and Danielle Wilkinson from Canada

"hi, it is more than month since i am looking for lyrics of scorpions song "pearls in her hair". and i stiil have not found it. please, if you have any knowledge (lyrics, url, e-mail addr., ...), that could lead to wanted lyrics, reply (or forward the message to someone, who could have). originaly it is a song of old hungarian band "omega" - original lyrics would be nice, as well. thanks" Comments by Maros from ???
(-:Omega:-)
I have nothing on that song and do not recall Scorpions recording that song.

"...but are missing one piece of artwork: The original cover to Best of Scorpions vol. 1. If you remember it at all it had a woman's butt on the front from a side view, with a huge scorpion on her leg, which was like a tattoo. Do you have this, or have you seen it? I own it on vinyl, but don't have any way to scan it." Comments by Eddie from ???
(-:Omega:-)
Mine does not have that cover and I have not seen it. If you ever do find away of scanning it, send it and I'll put it on this page or if anyone else out there has it, like wise.

"Hi Omega :) I've been a Scorpions fan for 20 years. In that time I've seen many "flash in the pan" bands. What makes the Scorpions different? Is it that heart-pumping beat? Schenker's musical artistry? Klause's liquid heat-filled sensuous voice? Matthias' pure magic on lead? Yeah, all of that plus their ability to express through their lyrics and music the raw emotion that everyone all over the world experiences. They've been my mouthpiece at times when my heart was so overwhelmed that my tongue was paralyzed--hard to do seeing as I'm a "windy" sort of woman! Do they know the impact they've had on the lives of their fans? That on occasion they've instilled hope in place of despair, joy in the face of pain, courage where temerity existed? Probably not. Does it matter? Probably not? Will they ever tour in the USA again, or will they desert us here, as MTV has deserted them? That's the real question. Or maybe the real question is, who do I have to kill to get a backstage pass? Hey fellas, here's a big wet kiss from the midwest:) The Infamous MzMae" Comments by MzMae from U.S.A.

"Hi, It's good to talk with other people, about a common interest. I will be glad if you send me some lyrics of my favourite band ...SCORPIONS!!! * From World Wide Live album * From Savage Amusement album * From Love at first sting album. You can find some audio further down this page in the Audio section and you will also find lyrics in that section under Lyrics.

"...I've been a Scorpions fan since the early 80's. You had some pictures of original album covers that I've never seen (Virgin Killer, In Trance). I'm attaching some pictures of my copy of Lonesome Crow that I bought in England in 1984. I've never seen another cover like it anywhere else and what even makes it cooler is the album itself is clear. Please reply back to me if you can tell me any more about this version of the album. Thanks" Comments by Dave from Japan

I would like to thank Dave for the pictures on the left and right. I am always extremely grateful when someone sends me something. This is the first time I have heard of this version of Lonesome Crow. If anyone out there has anymore information on it please E-Mail me.

"Hello there! This is a new fan club from Athens-Greece. We would like to know if there are any special news for the Scorpions for the rest of `98 and when exactly the new cd will be released. "Hi there! Please, please, please pass this mesage to Klaus Meine. Hi Klaus! My name is Lela Esakia. I am from Georgia (used to be part of Russia) i am 20. I love you very much and i want to see you very much. May 25 is your birthday. So happy birthday. Will you ever have a concert in Tbilisi? (capital of Georgia). Please write back. Thank you!!! With love Lela" Comments by Lela from Georgia

The best I can do is place your email on this web page and lets hope Klaus reads it. Scorpions has toured Russia quite often in the past and hopefully their tour for their new CD will take them to Georgia.

"dear friend: i would like to know the birthday day of all of the members, and know how old are they i want to tell Scorpions that i'm their fan since 4 years ago, now i'm 18 and please ask them for another concert here in M‚xico, 'cause only one concert is not enough, i know that this city is not the best for you, but really we miss you so much!!! this is only for Klaus: i love you since the first time i saw you, believe me, it was love at first sting, and i love your incredible voice, don't stop singing, ok?? always your friend from M‚xico, Sandy. xxxxxxx" Comments by Sandy from Mexico

"I was just at your Scorpions home page and because the Scorpions have been my all-time favourite heavy-metal band for almost 6 years so far,... Well, guess what I have for you? I have attached to this message my newly-sequenced MIDI version of "Alien Nation"! Not only does it have the synthesized words in it, but it also features three different pitches of the distortion guitar, one bass guitar, choir sounds, a lead guitar and of course, who would want to forget the drums?! Anyways, to tell you the truth, this is my first ever MIDI sequence I have created and I have spent a little over a month and a half putting it all together! Please download the sequence, play it and tell me what you think. If you like it, I'd like you to post it in the MIDI files area of you website for others to download. Note that when you download it, you may want to save it as "Alien Nation.MID". Thanks. "Hi-G" Lee Erickson. " Comments by Lee Erickson from ???

"Gee, you think I am stuck in another decade, don't you? well, I am, and I am happy there. Scorpions are my all-time favourite group. Being only 16, I missed out on a lot of opportunities to see the Scorp's in concert. That's the sad story of my life. I was wondering if the Scorpions are currently working on another project, and planning to go on tour? The only problem is, as times change so do the Scorpions. Pure Insticts was a lame attempt to hit to 40 again. ALthough "Wild Child" briefly got on the charts, the album was a loss. Don't sell our, guys!!!" Comments by cayte from ???

"To Klaus Miene: Since I have heard "where the river flows", I had a strong urge to appreciate you on the most profilic attempt on writing such a genuine song. I wonder why you don't go for more or had not done so many times. I'll like to stress on you to write next albums on genuine topics like you have did in "send me an angel", "Under the same sun", "evening wind", "crying days", "Life's like a river" etcs. Also please don't be a part of commercialism and don't write vulgar songs at all. Be objective and true with your writing abilities which I consider you have a bunch of. At last, i would like to say that your output has decreased since late eighties. Consider your fans also." Comments by ??? from ???

That's the same situation: we went back to where we are mostly rehearsing, put the microphones there, the speakers, the special mic. We moved houses and the whole house was empty. The living room was kind of the arrangement room where drums were set up and two guitars and bass and something to sing with. The sleeping room was the acoustic guitar room. Every room had a different kind of atmosphere. When you're recording in Los Angeles, especially when you're doing overdubs, there's four guys sitting in a hotel room, killing their mini-bar and only one person is with the producer. So you're getting nervous, thinking, Why don't they call me?. Then they call and say, Hey guys, what's happening and you say, I have a great idea and they tell you to wait. And then we're frustrated, sitting in the hotel room, going to the Rainbow, getting drunk. In this case, what's different is because we're living very close to each other, when somebody was working and recording something and he was finished, he called and said, Hey! Rudolf, you have time? or Klaus, you have time? Come over. It was very relaxed, not the same situation."

Klaus Meine on how Pure Instinct was created differently from previous recordings: "But we wanted to break up the system. No clock running. There was no pressure, really. We were just making an album."

Klaus Meine on whether Pure Instinct is from their heart and soul: "Yeah. A couple of years ago, we used to have a real ego about things. We liked to read on the back of the albums, Recorded at the Power Station in New York because it was really cool. But today, really, who cares? It's more important that there's authentic feeling on the record. We felt that by working at home, we would get this feeling and really make it 100% a typical Scorpions album. I mean, America changed so much, so what do we know? How can we reflect the American feeling? We did in the '80's because we spent so much time here. But all the bands from our generation, the American bands, they even cannot reflect what's going on here in America. It's another generation and they're doing it their own way. Which is very good. But this is our thirteenth album and we don't need to look for whatever can maybe make this a strong album. We just said, We need to look at ourselves, inside of us. That's where, maybe we'll find that inspiration that makes us special. Because we are different. We are a European band."

I hope the fans in America will find this out. What I'm afraid of is just that in America, program directors will say, 'You know, the '80's have passed. Scorpions, yeah, normally I would like to play them, but I'm sfraid I'd lose my job. My boss will kick my ass because I played some '80's stuff here.' This is not '80's. The Scorpions are the '90's. The Scorpions are the Scorpions. We're not competing with Alternative music. We're just doing what we're doing."

Rudolf Schenker on the bias against '80's bands': "It's not right, but MTV, for example, is responsible for these fast changes because it would never happen before. But now, MTV is very much into finding new trends and immediately reflecting them so that the people who are watching don't get bored. But after the first flash, what still stands is the music. That's what counts. That's the reason why the circle goes around and these 'classic rock' bands will be bigger than before."

Rudolf Schenker on whether Rock was ever gone: "Look at it this way. Here's a stone, a rock in the ocean. When the waves come in, they come over it and a little bit stays on the rock for a moment and then, the next wave comes. But the rock stays there. For the moment it's gone! But it's always been there."
