Managed Azure Cloud Computing Services

Azure expertise backed by decades of Canadian IT infrastructure experience.

We have run Canadian infrastructure since 1995, including our own Tier 3 Data Center in Markham, Ontario. Our Azure services build on that same operational experience, giving clients access to a team that understands the demands of managing critical IT infrastructure. Pathway Communications provides Azure cloud computing services and Azure hosting services built on that background, alongside Azure consulting for businesses still deciding what belongs in the cloud and Azure managed services for those already running there.

What Makes Our Azure Approach Different

Pathway Communications runs both a public cloud practice on Azure and our own private cloud platform, CloudPath, from the same Tier 3 facility. This allows us to support hybrid environments where some workloads run in Azure while others remain on private infrastructure. Our team also includes Microsoft-certified professionals with expertise in Azure and security.

Where a Consulting Conversation Saves You Money

If you are still deciding whether Azure is the right fit, start with a conversation before a contract. The most common mistake we see is a business sizing its Azure environment off old on premises hardware, which almost always overprovisions compute and storage that nobody scales back down afterward. An Azure consulting engagement with Pathway Communications includes a workload assessment, a cost model based on actual usage patterns, and a phased roadmap, so the business case is built before any spend commitment.

Start With an Azure Consulting Conversation

Migration Without the Downtime Surprises

Downtime during a migration almost always comes from a dependency nobody mapped, not from Azure itself. Before we move anything, we assess your servers, applications, and how they depend on each other, then decide which Azure service fits each workload, a virtual machine, an App Service, or a managed database. Migrations are staged and tested before cutover, and we validate performance once workloads are live rather than closing the ticket at go live. One habit worth adopting regardless of who runs your migration: revisit virtual machine sizing 60 to 90 days after cutover, since initial sizing is based on conservative estimates and that is usually where avoidable Azure spend hides.

Hosting and Database Migration, Scheduled Around Your Business

Azure web hosting through Pathway Communications covers Azure App Service and virtual machine based hosting, with load balancing, SSL configuration, and performance monitoring included rather than billed separately. Database moves go through our Azure database migration services, covering schema assessment, data transfer using Azure Database Migration Service, and validation testing for Azure SQL Database, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, and Azure Database for MySQL. Before cutover, we test the migrated database under conditions that closely reflect production. That gives us an opportunity to identify performance or data-integrity issues before users are relying on the new environment.

Security That Is Run In House, Not Resold

Azure includes platform level security tools, but the monitoring and response on top of them is where most gaps show up. Pathway Communications runs its own Managed Detection and Response, Security Operation Center, and Managed Firewall Services, staffed by our team rather than outsourced to a third party stack layered onto your account. Our in-house team already understands your environment, which helps us investigate and respond to issues efficiently.

Pathway Communications holds ISO 9001:2015, ISO/IEC 27001-2022, and SOC 1, SOC 2, and SOC 3 Type II certification, along with PCI DSS certification and compliance with HIPAA and Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act. Each is independently audited on a recurring schedule, which matters if your Azure environment stores payment data or personal health information.

Canadian-Based Infrastructure and Support

Where your data physically sits matters more than where a support line is answered. Our Tier 3 Data Center stays in Markham, Ontario, and we support Azure clients from that same Canadian-based team whether they operate out of Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, or elsewhere across Canada. Canadian-based infrastructure/support is a specific, auditable claim worth confirming with any provider before you sign, not a marketing line.

Start With an Assessment or a Conversation

If you already know what needs to move, start with an assessment. If you are still weighing whether Azure is the right call, start with a consulting conversation instead. Either way, you get a written scope, timeline, and cost estimate before any work begins.

Frequently Asked Questions

Start with Azure consulting if you are unsure which workloads should move, what the cost impact will be, or how Azure fits your compliance requirements. Go straight to Azure migration services if you already know what needs to move and want Pathway Communications to plan and execute the transition.

Yes. Many clients run part of their environment in Azure and part on CloudPath, our own private cloud platform hosted in our Tier 3 Data Center in Markham. We manage both from the same team, which avoids the handoff gaps that show up when a business splits infrastructure across separate providers.

Timelines depend on the number of workloads and their complexity. A single application can move in a few weeks, while a full infrastructure migration with several databases can take a few months. Pathway Communications provides a project specific timeline after completing your Azure readiness assessment.

Yes. Our Azure database migration services move existing SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases to Azure SQL Database or the matching Azure managed database service, with schema validation and testing completed before your production cutover.
